Rat will be an LPS ride with 3D screen visuals and physical sets. Think Spider-Man with no track.

To think Disney invented LPS and autonomous vehicles yet Seaworld is bringing LPS to Orlando and Disney isn't. Shocking.
No AAs?
Who am I kidding... this is a Sith Lord Fitzgerald joint!

IMO, when people plan a big vacation they go to Disney World because of the classic rides, the stable environment. When they want the latest, fastest thrill rides they go to Six Flags or their local theme park, they might plan a day or two excursion to USF/IoA but I have yet to hear anyone planning a vacation around USF/IoA even with the extreme amount of advertising they are running.
People come to Orlando and just do Uni.

I always feel badly for kids who don't get to go to Disney or Uni...but I know there is only so much time and money and people have to make tough choices!

It happens, though. It happens all the time...people pick one destination. And sometimes, they pick Uni.

It's is why I've stopped asking kids at Uni if they're going to go to Disney and vice-versa.

As in, the popularity of the attractions slid over time. People will eventually get bored of Potter much as they got bored of Jurassic Park, Marvel, etc.

Maybe during the 60 hour party at Disneyland back in the 80s?
People are bored with Jurassic Park and Marvel?

Plenty of people plan trips to just Universal.

Their luxury hotels on property would disagree with you.

What could be as big for Disney as Potter? On a personal side, I could care less about Star Wars. Do they go Pixar rout, or what? Personally, I don't think they need to try to outdo Hogwartz.

Didn't love Jurassic Park, the movie (and didn't read the book.) The movie was good, just not way up there on my list of Great Movies. I love the area, though. I walk down to the lookout. And I love the ride. It's a very well-done area.

Also not bored with Spider-Man. They're both extremely fun.

I go back and forth on the #1 ride in Orlando, but Spidey is always in contention. I always wonder if people who say it isn't fantastic have really never been on it. It's just so good.

I'm talking about the attractions, not the brands.
As far as I can tell, no one has gotten bored of Spider-man or The Hulk. Or the JP raft ride... By your measure, people are bored of Star Tours as well. Was the shortest line in the all of DHS when I was there in February. Was a walk on the entire time I was at WDW. So by your logic, people are bored of that ride to.

Star Wars is huge and will even be bigger once the new movies come out.

WDW also needs more stuff that boys like to balance out the overload of princess and fairy stuff.
I've said that in a thread I started a few months ago! There aren't enough "BOY" things. Star Wars could change that!

Spider-Man consistently has the 2nd longest line in IOA. Sometimes the longest. I'm thinking people aren't bored with it. And it's arguably the best ride on Earth, so why would they be?

Really, I have the opposite with my son and daughter... Neither cared anything about HP books, maybe the first movie out of curiosity and now at 20 my daughter has reverted back to the princess thing. My son (16), hated the HP movies, they were boring to him so much he refused to see the last three while the SW EP I, II and III and TCW television series were exciting to him, we have to ride Star Tours 5-6 time each trip to DHS. I tried the last three trips to get them interested in USF/IoA with zero luck. On top of that, we have six roughneck totes heavily payed with SW action figures, ships, Lego's etc to boot.

My children are by no means the only ones in my area that showed little to no interest in HP books or movies. Around halloween, look at the costumes that pass by your door, how many are Disney Princess/SW/Marvel vs HP. In my neighborhood most of the girls were Disney Princesses of some kind, or just a princess, with a lot of Marvel/SW with quite a few clone troopers and Darth Vaders.

Are you trying to say that Potter hasn't blown the roof off of theme park merchandising? I live 3 miles from Universal and 12 miles from WDW and see FAR more Potter merchandise walking around on a daily basis than Star Wars merch. I actually see more Potter merch walking around DHS than Star Wars merch in the park where Star Wars is. I am not trying to say that Star Wars isn't a powerhouse IP, because it obviously is. But are you REALLY trying to say that Potter isn't a powerhouse IP?

But I do love how Disney fans, and particularly Disney fans who are also Star Wars fans seem quite literally offended by Potter. And are absolutely intent on Pooh-Poohing on it and Universal. But it is hard to argue with this:

It's short lines most of the time because there are 6 vehicles and they hold a lot. I had to wait 40 min. On Saturday to ride it.
