Avengers Infinity War SPOILER Filled Thread

First impressions:

1. I LIKE what feige did here...that movie makes no sense if you didn’t watch the marvel movies...and that’s ok. That’s what iger and Kathy Kennedy brutally don’t get. It’s ok to cater to a huge, loyal fanbase.

2. I think it’s fantastic that the bad guy is the star...the key to superhero movies are the bad guys...always been that way.

3. The movie...while I agree the pacing is off...featured a ton of good entrances. Again...that’s what will stick with you if done with excitement.

4. It was way more guardians than avengers to me...the cross over was strange but it still works.

5. I really liked brolin, hemsworth, cumberbatch, Olsen and Evans...along with the BP crowd...

It felt like Downey is at the end...the same angst/sarcasm routine every movie.

6. The post credits should have been in the movie...it’s pretty key now.

Need to see all that again.

Sorry folks, jumping to the end here, since I just saw the movie.

First what a great movie, loved every bit of it. You could feel the emotion in the theater during key scenes, and even in the banter between Tony Snark(not a typo) and Dr. Strange.
I too agree that Dr. Strange is so much more effective with Tony and other Avengers. Loved the line"so what exactly is the relationship here? Is he your ward or something?(quick snip at DC????).

To me who is still there is so obvious now. It is obvious to me with the pictures we have seen from Avengers 4, that this will be going back in time.

Anyone else realize who is still left? Capt. America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawk eye(not in this movie), Hulk(sort of ;) )and Thor. The ORIGINAL Avengers from the first movie.

Yes, you still have Rocket and I believe you still have Rhodey....

But for Avengers only the originals.

My guess is, the key is what Dr. Strange said to Tony right before he ashed out. This was necessary. Again, he said he saw 14 billion different scenarios, but only ONE where they defeat Thanos. Tony HAS to be one of the keys to beating Thanos. As is the Time stone.

Its got to be a time travel portion, maybe to go back in time and change some history?

Loved the return of Red Skull as well in this. That was just awesome

In last night's episode, one of the characters (not the main cast) asked Daisy if she "had been watching the TV. All the weird stuff happening in New York." We assume that is referring to the events in the first part of Infinity War when Thanos' people attacked.

So I think it will affect Shield, if the show has another season. I think in the final few minutes of the season, after they have resolved the current Shield arc, some of the team will dissolve, just like the movie. It would allow an "out" for any cast members that want to move on before the show ends, work on side project, etc. (I really doubt they'll get two more seasons). And we can assume that when Avengers 4 gets fixed, they'll get fixed too. Next year, maybe they can find some clue or item that helps the remaining Avengers win, to not make that season meaningless once the reset happens.
HEY! This is the A:IW spoiler thread -- please! No Agents of Shield spoilers!!! (some of us haven't seen last night's episode yet...)

Honestly, it was a blink and you missed it throw away line. It had absolutely nothing to do with what happened on Shield. The character it was said to didn't even react to it. It was only for the audience.

I just love how well the Russo brothers do with their direction. I wasn't a fan of the Guardians movies (both I thought were pretty overrated), but I absolutely loved them in this film. Better direction honestly.

Cumberbatch was the highlight for me...and brolin.

But yes...it’s all about time. Hence they bring in the jean grey esque captain marvel.

Looking forward, you have to think that some(maybe a couple) go down and the rest of the team finds it too much to handle and quits...

I think you can definately count at least two will be gone post this.

Marvel is killing themselves though. A confirmation of a Black Widow movie, and a sequel to Spider man and GotG 3 kind of gives some things away.

I hope you are wrong about that. He was always a entertaining character to watch.

Something else I noticed last night while leaving the theater. The audience, the entire audience was as pumped as I was, and seemed ready to turn around and watch it all over again. Back in December when leaving the same theater after TLJ's opening, it was very different. There were some who seemed happy, others disappointed, and others ANGRY. But not Infinity War last night. Everyone seemed so electric and eager for what happens next. I'll admit the wait until Av4 is going to be antagonizing.

That's interesting. The viewings me and my friends have been to have had the audiences walking out of the theaters like leaving a funeral. The end was so dark and the music so brooding it was odd. No applause or cheers. Just a quiet exit.

I really loved that they got Strange and Stark together as it's been mentioned how they have similar personalities, so to see them play off each other (in addition to both actors also playing the SAME character as Sherlock), I think the writers understood this and made them confront each other, almost like this :p :

People in some reviews also asked why they decided to go toward Thanos WITH the time stone. I think either they knew that Thanos would be able to find them anyway, and/or both of them already have such huge egos that they think they can take him on by themselves.

It occurred to me during the movie that one original character has NOTHING...and no one...left to live for...

And it’s not who they are leaning towards

So, saw it again just now.

I tried to pay keen attention to Thanos only culling half the Asgardians, but there was no mention of it that I caught. Now, it would be out of character for him to kill them all, but that's what was shown on the screen. At least, his intent, because Thor survived. Also, Thor never mentioned all his people being dead, just his family and Heimdall. So... I dunno.

On second viewing it was super obvious that after the snap of his fingers, Thanos was in the Soul Stone (everything was orange) and Gamorette was there since her soul was traded for the Soul Stone. After he left it, then everyone start to ash. I imagine it's pretty crowded right now.

I realized that Wanda's power to destroy the mind stone was because it was the mind stone that gave her and her brother powers.

I think the word Thor used for Xandar is 'decimated.'

I have a theory that those A4 set pics are nothing to do with time travel or alternate realities but they’re actually using Tony’s B.A.R.F technology from Civil War to see what they missed the first time Thanos attacked them....

I believe Tony said he wanted to take the fight away from New York which is pretty good reasoning imo.
