I think the fact that it's inaugural has a lot to do with it...that and people wanting one last shot at a Coast-to-Coast medal that didn't get in to the Disneyland Half.

I went to a pasta party one time for a local race...I think I paid about $15 and thought it was a total rip-off. No way I'd pay $89 for one at Disney!

I'm in for the 5K and the Half. This will be my first time participating in an inaugural rD weekend (I've done new events at existing weekends), so we'll see how it goes. They have a reputation for forgetting everything they've learned from previous events, so I'm hoping for the best
And DLR and WDW APers have always been able to sign up early for races on the 'other' side. I guess it's not especially well known, but it's nothing new
