Avengers Endgame Spoiler Discussion

Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nebula, and Rhodes fly in the larger Milano to the planet from the opening credits of GOTG. They take off and go to the other planet with fan service Red Skull (I don’t remember the planet names).

This is where I miss the point of the tiny ship he carried with him. This isn’t a complaint, I just can’t figure out where in the plot this was resolved. Any enlightenment would help; I’m sure I’m missing a key detail.

The timeline as I follow it is.. the ship is used to bring tony back.. and they also fly it back to avengers hq after scott lang arrives. Then, they must shrink it.. give it to hawkeye.. and when they time jump to the power stone planet... then hawkeye and BW resurrect the ship... and leave for the soul stone planet.. leaving nebula and iron patriot on the planet with the 'shuttle' ship from the larger ship.

What makes no sense to me is why this redevous and departure is even needed. Why not just jump directly to the soul stone planet. Unless they have some angle where they feel they don't know where to jump TO on the planet... so jumping to the power stone planet gives them the opportunity to 'inflate' the ship.. and takeoff from there in the correct time point.

I've thought that marvel would have some movies that fail a few times. Each time they prove me wrong. I'm on Record Saying guardians and antman might not end up that great. So I see what you're saying but I'm in a they've earned my trust position. I just dont see them all of a sudden Half baking the movies because endgame does fantastic. Now if Feige bows out and says, I've told my story, then I could see an issue.
That last Altman was pretty bad...

That’s a good point.

Since they were on Earth, you could make the argument a time jump on the same planet doesn’t require a ship, hence why the jump to NYC and to the 50’s was without one.

But then there’s Thor and Rocket jumping to Asgard without a ship, which destroys that theory.

I really liked it and it did 623mil. and 88% fresh. I know not every movie is everyones cup of tea, but both ant man movies are considered very good by most people.

It’s so high on my list because it’s a film that doesn’t need the MCU to stand on its own. It’s why I love both Guardians films, Ant-Man 2, and Ragnarok so much.

I credit Feige a ton for this expanded universe cohesion that’s actually ridiculously well done, but I like the films that tell stories that don’t require the larger universes to lean on to succeed are usually the best.

Except Captain Marvel. That film just sucks.

I think it's that nebula knows what planet it is... but none of them have been to the soul stone planet. Where maybe they have been to the power stone planet as part of the detachment that intercepts Star lord

I just assume Gamora told Nebula the planet with the Soul Stone before the events of this film, and used deductive reasoning as to what was required at that planet.

*not it*

I actually think nebula mentions they come chasing it on that planet. This was my thought. Vormir was the only place nobody had set foot on, so they wouldnt be able to input exact coordinates/time.

Ragnorok was by far the best. What stinks is that the following Avenger movies sorta made what happened in it irrelevant.

And I think Ragnarok completely redefined the character, which is why I lot of people suddenly think he has been the best MCU character in subsequent films.

He has....I was more speaking to point of the movie. Him finding himself, developing new powers and leadership for his people. That all sort of just ended with the Avenger movies. Heck I think even the writers realized it, because how the heck did his people get on earth in the first place. I kinda guess that most of them escaped to earth from some bridge made by Heimdall?

I see your point and agree to a certain extent, though I don’t think his new powers not being a focal point on IW is that big a deal.

There are plot holes that need to be filled in, like how did Valkyrie, Meek, and Korg get to Earth, but those aren’t important enough for me to worry about them much. Those are just logistics issues that don’t matter when all is said and done.

Just...he went from finally following in his father's footsteps, being a leader to his people to...getting fat, doing no leading then saying peace out Asgard!

Strong disagreement on this.

He lost his father. He lost his evil sister. He lost his brother. He lost his home. He lost his family. He lost vs. Thanos, and he lost several of his Avengers friends because of a slight miscalculation that would have prevented the snap.

He lost everything, and at some point, there was a line that was crossed. And when that line was crossed, he turned to food and alcohol nonstop. That’s believable.

EDIT: that said, Rocket enticed him to join when he mentioned there was beer on the ship. I want to know kind of beer. If it’s IPA, I lose respect for Thor.

Maybe it was an amber ale?
Btw... the local beer store must have made a fortune!

I’m repeating my prediction that Odin will suddenly sound like James Earl Jones and say, “you are more than what you have become.” 😉
