The difference is that the hotel is the main character in TOT whereas the Guardians are the main characters in a Guardians attraction. TOT doesn't need AA's because it has physical sets. Mission BO suffers with having just projected scenes and no action or characters to enjoy other than the pre-show.

Ya TOT is a good example of an attraction that had a rich atmosphere and really got a whole lot out of a little bit with those set pieces, effects and screens. I’ve been on Mission Breakout at least 20 times and I can’t tell you what physical set pieces exist where the screen is. There’s that Christmas lights scene and then the Tv screen level. Not for a second am I able to suspend disbelief enough to believe I’m not staring at the image of the Guardians on a screen. It’s like a ride where we are watching a live broadcast of the Guardians somewhere else. Or we and the Guardians are FaceTiming each other. I can’t even ever buy into the fact that we re in the collectors fortress but that’s just probably because I can’t forget the purpose built version of the attraction it replaced.

I don't think it suffers at all. It works very well as is.

I think it does what it set out to accomplish so maybe “suffers” is the wrong word. With that said, when it comes to the ride portion of TOT I think it had a great Atmosphere, pacing and build up. The Mission Breakout experience doesn’t have any of those things so it’ll always be a loss for me. This is aside from the fact that the old Hollywood/ haunted hotel theme is timeless and appealed to me much more than a Marvel ride ever could.

Honestly dont know why they didnt reuse the same scrim effect that was in TOT. They would've been a bit translucent but my brain would've accepted that were in the same space more than the screens that are currently there .

They already had the giant screen. Why build something new? That room is just the mirror effect room from before.
The Christmas tree light show room is the old hallway room.

"Wooooow, I don't want to say I'm underwhelmed but I'm pretty underwhelmed." My friends reaction to Avengers Campus.
When you stop to think about the importance of the Marvel brand to the company and the billions the movies/TV shows have made, to think that THIS is what they came up with for a theme park land is truly astonishing.

Just compare what Universal did with Harry Potter to this mess - it speaks volumes.

I honestly walked through it once, went on that Spiderman ride (which was truly dreadful), saw a few meet and greets, and have zero energy to ever go back through there again.

It's almost hard to process how "small" and poorly done it is by Disney on perhaps their most important brand (along with Star Wars).

In case anyone was curious what it's like visiting Steven/Mr. Knight at Avengers Campus in his new meeting spot - we had a couple of quick conversations that I posted to YouTube. Here's one where I asked why he had a pet goldfish instead of a dog, cat, etc.:

I also had a super fun interaction where Cap (Steve Rogers) sent me on a "mission" to go check out the new Steven on Campus and see if I thought he'd be a good recruit for the Avengers. After discussing it with a very overwhelmed Steven/Mr. Knight, who pointed out he's really just a gift shop clerk and new to all this stuff, I returned to Cap with my assessment that Steven was not really Avengers material at this time, given that he has other obligations and other masters. :D

And this is why I love this place when the characters are around. :)

Well they certainly don’t seem like they’d enjoy single riders sitting next to them when they don’t even let any riders on their entire ride!

Lol.

Sorry I’m at the the tail end of a 5 day shoot and worked 12 days straight (4 to go) including 18 hours today.

But really If you think about my mindset when it comes to single riders it’s more about = rights than it is not sitting next to anyone. It’s really the exact opposite of what the Kardashians are doing.

No
Kardashians? I'd rather take Beyonce's side of the battle:

"All the single riders, all the single riders,
All the single riders, throw your hands up!"
