Wreck It Ralph 2 looks like a pile of dung. Full of memes and internet references. I hate it so much. It makes me angry that Disney would make that. Bring back Disney movies that had art like Lady and the Tramp and Bambi and Peter Pan. Enough of these pop culture references that started in the 90's. They're awful. I hate them and Wreck It Ralph 2 is the worst of them. I hope that movie gets critically panned for his pathetic pandering to young audiences. I'm shocked it doesn't have a reference to Logan Paul filming himself with a dead body, it's that desperate for young audiences to relate to it. Miranda Sings and Grumpy Cat are so old. They were outdated when the film was announced. Put Smosh and Nigahiga and What the Buck and Charlie the Unicorn in there if you want outdated YouTube references. And let's not even get started on the Disney circlejerk of that movie. Look at all we own! Here's our self mocking of the princesses! We're so clever and witty! Durrr! Idiotic. It's garbage. Making fun of your own brand is so pathetic. Why is there even that Fortnite dancing in this movie? I hope Wreck It Ralph dabs! Maybe he'll do the whip and nae nae! Jeez aloo, it's like Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign all over again. Pokemon Go! to the theaters to see Wreck It Ralph 2, fellow kids! Remember when we all shamed the Emoji movie for being corporate greed, trying to relate to the youth, and being a giant product placement but when Disney does the same garbage with Wreck It Ralph 2 we all wet our pants in anticipation because Disney can do no wrong. If you see this movie with a girl on a date, you may as well be Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver because this is just straight up corporate ography. I hate it. It's trash. End of rant.

I still cringe when I hear the Twitter joke in Moana. With that said I liked Wreck it Ralph. These kind of movies are ok as one off. I definitely don’t want to see this style continued. I love the old school movies. The 30s through late 60s were a glorious time for Disney animation minus a few duds and certain parts of the package films that put you to sleep. Something about the narrators old timey voices is soothing and can lull me right into a wonderful nap. Kind of like baseball game commentators.

Disney movies don't have to be serious, its a fun look at the internet culture from the eyes of Disney....

So have you guys seen the conversation going on over at Micechat on how Kirsten Bell doesn’t let her kids watch Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs because Snow White doesn’t give her consent to the Prince to kiss her?
Well, I guess Disney just has to fix that scene by having the "sleeping dead" Snow White flash a quick "thumbs up" to the Prince before he moves in for the kiss. I guess the kids aren't allowed to watch Sleeping Beauty, either.

Lol. This is funnier than what I said on Micechat.

I agree. Another plug for what I like about Dreamworks' Dragon series: No pop culture references, and all the humor comes from the characterizations.

One things to remember, though: Snow White, Pinocchio, and I'm sure at least a few other classic Disney films contain some gags that were--at the time--pop culture references that played right to the paying audience. It's a credit to all involved that those moments still mostly stand on their own long after the references have faded.

Thats a good point. There have been a few things said in those movies that I figured were pop culture references of the time as I have no idea what they re talking about. I can’t think of any examples off the top of my head at the moment.

Lots of things are weird when you start to analyze fairytales too closely. Like the fact that the Prince kissed what was presumably a dead corpse.

Jiminy Cricket is the biggest perpetrator... starting with his name. :D Lines like, "What they can't do these days." Then there's Honest John directly quoting the 1938 jazz song, "Flat Foot Floogie."

It's a good thing to teach her kids, and she has everything right to stop them from viewing it, but IMHO, along those lines, she and many others are overreacting.

It’s a good thing to teach but she’s using the wrong example. If I were Disney I’m not sure how I would feel about the voice of the princess of the moment publicly saying these things.
