Is anyone else feeling like this was severely underwhelming? 😂

Like you can even see it in the production quality of the video. It looks like a school project done by freshman in high school with some good editing. Plus the toy doesn't even move or do a realistic "fight" with another bot, it just flashes its lights at each other (but hey, it's a great way for parents to buy two toys, cuz then they can "fight", so props for disney for being economically smart).

Maybe I'm being pessimistic rn but I can't help but feel as if Disney could have done a much better job with this. It's smart that they're still releasing it in time for Christmas and I'm sure it'll make money but... come on. I swear though, if this is $50 I'm gonna lose my mind.
It won’t be $50.

it’ll be $75.

When I think of Spiderman, I don't think of "Spider Bots." But Disney has a weird perception of what people expect from these properties. At least the laser swords, robots and things in the SW land were obviously recognizable props that are instantly associated with those movies.
Spider-Bots were introduced in the comics in Superior Spider-Man Volume 1 back in 2013, long before Avengers Campus was even an idea by Disney. So its very much canon to the Spider-Man universe.

Disney continues to keep any excitement or anticipation for this project from me nonexistent.

I agree. With that said, I don’t know if it’s the lack of entertainment/ good news or what but I was slightly excited to see the videos of those new ride vehicles coming into the loading area of the Spider-Man ride. I’m sure at the least it will be fun and a step up from TSMM. There was a point, before my wife and I had kids and the screens were still bright, that it was our favorite ride at DCA. Well, after TOT.

It's not just you. This looks incredibly underwhelming. Like an overpriced remote controlled hunk of plastic circa 1995.

And the ride itself is a Marvel themed version of Midway Mania, except with 8 people per ride vehicle instead of 4 people per ride vehicle?

Yeah... suddenly I'm thinking this whole Covid thing was a blessing in disguise for TDA. Because this Marvel Land project seems incredibly lame and rather underwhelming.

Five years of Bob Chapek being Chairman of the Parks division seems to have taken its toll.
