The guardians of the galaxy show building is bigger, and the execs are bolder thinking go away Blue is sufficient theming, duh! 🙄

Edit: Although if Mission breakout doesn’t win the ‘bolder’... I don’t know what does. Drat sorry Orlando fans, there is no proof!

What ride system would you guys use for this Spider Man system ?

It seems like they want most of the family to enjoy & obvi be done as fast as possible. Id maybe do an updated version of Car Toon Spin. Ideally I would want it to be an EMV or a Kuka arm.

BUT I also wouldnt mind Dr Strange and Spiderman switching places. A Spiderman stunt show really shouldve been the go to as said before. While Dr Strange isnt really as popular as the other Marvel movies I think the environments lend themselves fro a more interesting a theme park attraction than Spiderman does

Tron Coaster, Fantasyland Expansion, Animal Kingdom, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Pandora, Gondola Skyway, Spaceport Restaurant, Disney Springs, Riviera Resort, World Showcase, the massive EPCOT upgrade coming.........
I see that as them playing catch up. There’s no excuse for the four parks to collectively have less rides than the two smaller ones at DLR. Years ago wdw decided to invest in fastpass+, foregoing resort expansion, in order to keep guests on property and increase spending as UO continued to take more of the market share. Sounds a lot like this past quarter for Disney. So as much as I want to believe it’d be bigger and better at wdw, they rarely act on (or remember?) Walt’s blessing of size. Perhaps they need a map

More like completely Honest spin.
Lol
Calling Flight of Passage a “decent” simulator and downplaying it is the definition of negative spin.
Of course you can have your opinion but it’s widely considered one of the best theme park attractions in the world and is the most popular attraction at WDW. I don’t like Avatar but the land is superb!!
I also think a lot of people think the concept art and description of the Spaceport Rrstaurant is pretty spectacular. We will see about the execution, but my point was that things like that, or Animal Kingdom will NEVER be built in Anaheim. When they really want to go huge/next level/ newest technology, it’s always in WDW. Whether they end up succeeding or not is a different question. I don’t want to debate Mission Space, but they would never build something like that just for Anaheim. I don’t know when DLR will get another exclusive attraction the likes of RSR because they just don’t build those for DLR anymore. No way to actually know if they would have gone big with Marvel if they could in Orlando, but the chances sure would be better.

Disneyland, and DCA by extension, is an intimate park that should not have large scaled lands and attractions. It's my biggest problem with Galaxy's Edge and my biggest fear with Rise.

The space restaurant is going to be operated by Patina. They're pretty good at doing restaurants.

I agree with you but their opening a Marvel Land at DCA not WDW so let’s try to stick to the topic at hand.

Calling FoP one of the "Best Rides in the World" is a huge stretch. Come on hun. lol

1. The four parks in Orlando have just as many *rides* as does the two parks in Anaheim (depending how you count them). And in a few years will have decidedly more *rides*.

2. There is an excuse why four parks have nearly the same rides as two: That is, three of those parks were created to be more than just a repository for rides. DHS was a Studio Tour park with rides. Epcot was a World Fair park with rides. DAK was a zoo with rides. Ignoring all the *attractions* that are not rides -- for which WDW vastly outnumbers DLR -- is really quite naive. It's mainly why WDW is more of a vacation destination than DLR and why people can spend a whole week there.

So... take off the ride blinders otherwise you're comparing apples to oranges.

Just curious as to how you could form this opinion when the ride hasn’t opened... Disney hasn’t officially given us much on the ride in general.

That comment is only in reference to the pre/post scenes. Mostly the exposed indoor warehouse nature of TSMM. It’s just painted partitions.

Of course the concept art could be overselling it, but it seems actually more complete and not a semi-divided warehouse.

Of course TSMM may be overall a better attraction!

Good lord, if those pictures are "overselling it" we are really in big trouble. This is the best they can come up with? Is there no creative juice left in WDI? Doesn't anybody remember how to entertain the public with fun and magical/unique environments we actually enjoy and want to revisit?

When we already have one of the greatest attractions of all time in the Spider Man ride in IOA from 20 years ago, this is what they come up with? I'm hoping those images are just wrong and what we see in D23 is an actually entertaining, fun experience and not a depressing slog through a concrete/grey industrial basement.

Overselling the finishing. ALL I was making commentary on is that they bothered to enclose it...

The images are right, but I assume the ride is a bit more exciting and hopefully leaves the facility.

I know, such lofty benchmarks.

None of those are on the same scale as something like Cinderella Castle, WDW’s Space, or WDW’s Tower of a Terror.

So are you talking facades? Grounds? Or the attraction itself?

Cindy’s castle would be out of scale for DL, but there’s no attraction in it, so I don’t see how it applies to RotR.

WDW’s Space Mountain definitely takes up more acreage than DL, but the ride in the dark itself is essentially the same as far as scope goes.

WDW’s Tower was superior to DCA’s in nearly every way. But if the WDW version was fully plopped into DCA, it would have taken up more space, (I’d imagine the Hyperion outdoor queue would be eaten up) but it wouldn’t have seemed out of scale for Hollywood Land.

Besides, the ‘epicness’ of RotR is apparently chalked up to the Star Destroyer’s Hangar, and the AT-AT scene. Based on @marni1971’s drawings, everything else seems to be standard scale (Mansion-ish?) in the space left over.

And RotR’s facade is so well hidden, I can’t think you’re referring to that as being out of whack for Disneyland.
