I get the sense (based on rumors and concept art) that these vehicles won’t spin, have much movement or have any real pace to them. I’m curious to see how they accomplish making me feel like I’m a super hero in the middle of the action if this is the case. Tech alone? This seems like another Star Wars Land mistake in the making. So next year we’ll have 4 Marvel and Star Wars rides and the only one that will most likely provide any thrill is the TOT overlay.

Why are they not making any of their rides based on THRILLING ACTION PACKED movies THRILLING!?!

Because now would be the time. Not during a Fantasyland expansion.

Because Spiderman is every four-year-old boy’s favorite character (in the Disney stable). He is the new Peter Pan/ Aladdin.

Fair point but that doesn’t explain why ANY of the new rides based on Marvel or Star Wars aren’t thrill rides. Also you only have to be 40 inches to go on most thrill rides at DLR. Most kids hit 40 inches by the time they re 4.

In the words of Rodney Dangerfield, I should’ve said 2!

Here's some Universal concept art for comparison.

More evidence of WDI understanding the theme park medium - I don't want to see Spider-Man, I want to be Spider-Man.

CAnt wait to join Spideman on the ground going 2mph while he’s up there doing all the fun stuff. To play devils advocate for a second I understand that it’s harder to pull off an attraction where we are moving like Spider-Man that’s not a simulator AND is good for children/ people who get nauseous easily AND be agreeable to Chapeks budget.

Sometimes you have to go ALL IN in one direction and let chips fall where they may.

To add to the devil's advocate, Universal's Spider-Man doesn't have you be the character; you interact with Spidey and the Sinister Syndicate throughout your adventure. The ride is still spectacular with great tech and thrills.

Right I was thinking about that. The issue there is we know that the ride is pretty much TSMM with better tech. Not sure if the tech alone is enough to take it over the top.
