I have heard the D-ticket boat ride has been downgraded to a C-ticket walk thru. It is basically the same attraction without a ride system. It should have several large AAs and "bioluminescent" plants. But as Lee said. It will be the first thing axed if the budget balloons.
Interesting. Decent sources on that stuff?

Because we all know how much more successful POTC would have been
if it had just been a walkthrough, as planned . . . ;)

Seems like these plans change minute to minute, and person to person.
I guess that's par for the course in development.
It's just . . . been . . . . so . . . . . . . long . . . . . . . . .

Sorry, but this is ridiculous. UNI is only operating off of Panic? Not ambition?

Universal could take their time just off HP 2 expansion, they aren't. And it has and will pay of mightily.

No it's not. Universal has to hurry just to try and siphon off a day or two from a families planned Disney vacation. As they said, they cannot afford a repeat of Summer 2012. Disney knows people come down to Orlando to come to Disney. universal just wants a piece of the pie.

Again thanks for going through all that effort to find a picture - but executives shamelessly lie though the back teeth to make an executives decision seem good for shareholders. Who do I believe Al Lutz with his top of the tree inside sources or an executive who needs to put on a persona of reassurance for its shareholders

With all due respect, Disney doesn't care what you think if your opinion is contrary to the observed patterns of guest behavior.

Bingo. The opinions of anyone on this board, (myself included) as a whole, are completely irrelevant to Disney.

I really don't know yet. They also told me that the E isn't the ride system in the leaked blueprints. That is similar, but better than the one in the blueprints. He actually used the word "cooler". But not any more detail than that.
If that means Pandora's box then I'd be almost giddy. Kuka hit a sweet spot between innovation and feasibility. WDI has had a stretch where their ideas have either been ho-hum or so over the top that they're just impossible.

Exactly plus trying to adapt to the new Uni model - Disney could never build 3 E-Ticket attractions in 2.5 year time frame, but that is what Disney needs to do as well as produce killer attractions that redefine again Themed Entertainment.

It appears that they'll need to "fix" WDI and the upper management's thinking about the parks before any improvements of substance get underway.

You guys got me. Uni is winning the battle for teenagers and college kids. If I'm a business, I'll take the $4,000 Family Suite guest with the Disney Dining Plan over the Miami of Ohio Phi Beta Kappa sorority girls doing "Spring Break on a budget."

haha great reply.

And if WDW was "printing money", WDC wouldn't feel the need to lump its numbers in with DLR and DCL in its quarterly reports. They'd crow from the rooftops about how they don't need discounts anymore (they do) and how the hotels are packed to the gills (they aren't).

To be fair, he said that Disney was printing money. Not Walt Disney World. WDW is one unit of one of five segments. People always seem to forget that here, or just ignore it.

Feel free to move this to the Avatar thread but I figured I'd start a new thread for actual news rather than bury it in 200 pages of argument.

Funny how the first post of this thread starts with this -- and then 40 pages later the OP is off analyzing Universal's desperation (sic).

Thought this thread was reserved for "actual new rather than...200 pages of argument."

You've bashed bloggers/social media in the past as not being reliable sources. Are you backing off that now? Just want to make sure I know where you're coming from today :)

I acknowledged that and have been back on topic. You complaining about me being off topic is just as off topic as my off topicness was.
