I would be there on Opening day if they were to include a rollercoaster type attraction. I don't care much for Avatar and a boat ride and a Soarin on steroids wont do it for me. I hope the movies are a success because that will help with attendance and merchandise sales greatly of course. If the new movies are not huge hits I'm kinda afraid for this expansion and that it might not bring a 20 to 30% increase in attendance like Carsland and Potter did. Here is hoping for the best!

Disney will bury any Uni opening if on the same day, 10 to 1 if not substantially more. No matter what the IP.

Jimmy Thick- Public prefers Disney.
really? How come Transformers opening was far larger then the Fantasy land expansion phase with Little Mermaid? I was at both and Transformers had much larger crowds then Fantasy land.

I think this poll pretty much says it all more people are willing to wait on Avatar land then go for the opening and this is on a very Pro disney website.

Sorry Jimmy Disney is screwing the pooch on this one. With this and spending 2 billion on fast pass plus which is already outdated technology and I don't see a bright future for disney.

One thing kind of worries me about this Poll. There are barely more the 50 responses to this poll. If I am recalling correctly most polls here draw one to two hundred responses or even more. How many members are registered at WDWmagic? 19 yes responses seems very low to me. Is it because most people don't really have that much excitement for Avatar or is it just that its over 3 years away from opening day?

Does anyone know if TDO did any guest surveys on Avatarland before construction began? What were the results? They seem to love to do surveys. I have been asked my opinion on a few of them over the years.

I am guessing it's because of the person who made the poll who has a history of making biased polls.

I didn't vote because none of those options are accurate for me. I won't be there opening day, but not because I am waiting on the review, just because it's not practical for me to do that and even it is was I don't want to deal with potential opening day crowds. I will wait and see it on my next scheduled Disney trip.

In response to your first question: Any survey that includes, "I will only go if I get to hold hands with Jimmy Thick" probably makes it invalid and inappropriate to make any sort of assumptions. I'm sure you were really being hypothetical though.

If there was a survey inquiring about my interest Pandora, I think it would not have been in connection to Disney. I would say I would love to be immersed in a different world. But I might not say Pandora would be great to visit when I am in Animal Kingdom at WDW. Surveys are so easily manipulated and unless it is administered with oversight from an unbiased entity enforcing strict research procedures you can get your results to say anything.

I am a DVC owner. I usually have to book my trips at least 7 months in advance (11 for some times of the year) if I want to get a room at my desired resort. No way will we have a firm opening date 11 or even 7 months before this thing opens. When is the mine train opening? How about Potter 2.0? Both are some time this year and less than 7 months out but no firm dates yet. If I get lucky and happen to be there on opening day on my normally scheduled trip I'll partake and I will be excited to see Avland on my first trip after it opens, but I won't be booking a special trip for opening weekend.

Methinks this shows the general level of interest in Ava...what??

Will I be there for 'rope drop'. No.

Will I be there to see it eventually. That is determined by the state of the whole resort as a whole when that happens.

If the resort (several years from now) offers enough things that interest me that have a reasonable degree of access to them at a price point that I'm willing to pay, then I'll take a look at it with an open mind. If it doesn't interest me, I'll do what I did for Camp Minnie/Mickey - skip it totally.
