AVATAR land - the specifics

Those art prints are going to be all over my office. The illustration work is gorgeous, especially the prints inspired by Rhode's sketches. My wallet is feeling lighter already. I actually had a few custom patches made for my opening day costume...but it looks like I'll have more to add on from Windtrader's now....

Also, I am so glad nothing we have seen has mouse ears on it. I am eternally grateful for that.

On the Fastpass+ topic, I happen to agree with you, Ripken10. FWIW. :) Fastpass+ is first and foremost a method to increase efficiency, and secondly to improve the guest experience. This is problematic because it goes against Disney's famous four keys order. Still, by these standards, it doesn't show that the people making these decisions are incompetent. They know exactly what they're doing. The potential problem is the priority of efficiency above show and courtesy.

Correction... it's first and foremost a way to get guests out of line and spend more money on shops/restaurants. That was the whole reason FP was created.

I think the buzzword for this kind of thing is "problematic."
If WDW has managed to borrow from real cultures without much incident, I don't see how creating a fictional culture would raise those pitchforks. Certainly TWDC has had some issues, but I don't think it would be a problem unless they borrow something very specific from a culture to use it for the Navi. I think it's a brilliant way to take a broad survey of pre-industrial art and look at it through this Navi lens... simple shapes, repeating patterns, natural objects, etc. The hand print reminds me of hand print cave paintings here on Earth. The art relates to Earth art. The stories about the animals on Pandora supposedly have Earth analogs. It looks like it will fit a lot better into Animal Kingdom than I even thought it would, and I didn't really mind the land. I've come to view it as DAK's Tomorrowland.

Are you aware for how long they are gone to? lol I mean this is pretty messed up for anyone that didn't have a resort reservation. Disney should have opened them up to everyone at the same time.

I know it stinks, but why is it messed up? People staying onsite are giving Disney a lot more money. It's logical to me. Especially for people who perhaps have traveled a long distance and invested a lot of money in a trip.

Do we know if there is any expansion land for Avatar or have they maxed out their space over there by former camp M/M? Just curious if this land is a huge homerun it would be great if they could add another ride or experience down the road- especially with the sequels.

PS- Getting so excited for this new land to open!!!! Come on Disney, shut all the naysayers down and blow us away!!!!!

I posted this in another thread...

If expansion was to happen I would think the area in read would be the most likely. The area in blue is also possible since this will all be employee parking, so they would have to move that and would have to do something to hide the side of the FoP show building.
