How high can structures be in FLA without having a light at the top for airplanes??? 190 feet??? I wish they would release more pictures

a light is required at 200 ft. Everest is over 190 I believe.

It is going to be 143'. Which is about the height of the Hogwarts Castle.

What they need to do is make it so high that even with a light on top, you wouldn't see it.
So say, 2000 feet or so.

No, it just wouldn't have been announced yet. We'd we giddy with suspense, having not known anything was coming until 2014 (when CMM closed), rather than 2011.

Hard to make that judgement until we have a better idea of the details of what Disney is building.

I think people simplify the "Soarin over Pandora" concept. It's an easy option but we really don't know what it's going to be. If anything I would think Avatar is more up Disney's alley because it will be rock work heavy in the land, and the boat ride is likely going to be large physical sets.

But the Orlando Eye got a pass at this. It has a light at about 200 ft in the center, but that's it. Maybe the reg is written different than I thought.

The whole thing has lights around it at night they change colors and everything. I'm pretty sure that's good enough for a helicopter or plane.

The FAA requires that any structure, 200' or taller, have a red warning light (or lit flag), at the highest point of all points that are 200' or taller.

Additionally, every tower, crane or building that will go up within an airport's airspace, or which may cause interference with airline communications.

looking at pictures it seems the red light is in the center. I don't know the exact height of the center but like scuttle said I would assume about 200 feet. That's obviously not the full height so does this need a light at the top of the structure as well or not.

I'm real curious as to what the deal is with the Eye. Didn't have time to do any "light reading"
