The lighting effects kind of remind me of the JTTCOTE ride at DisneySea, only I would much rather have our Navii AA at the end instead :D

I saw Toruk in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. It was not good. Too much Avatar and not enough Cirque.

Saw it in Pittsburgh. Was not impressed.

New Na'vi River Journey Promo, that one scene already makes my jaw drop and it's only 2 seconds long. :)

I've been at my desk studying two seconds worth of video for about a half hour now. Immediately my brain screams "SCREEN ON THE LEFT WITH THE MOVING ANIMAL THING" but with the fluid movements of the known animatronic... I'm questioning a bit of reality.

Well done, Disney. That's the whole point.

I would agree that the animal (a Viperwolf or Nantang in Navi) is a projection.

Imagine Journey's little jungle glow in the dark room, but instead it being realistic looking plants, and imagine them responding to physical and sound stimuli, and imagine it surrounding you EVERYWHERE. Oh, that's just the stuff you'll see before you get to the actual attractions. I don't think people comprehend yet how crazy this stuff looks at night when everything's turned on. I haven't even seen everything turned on at once (it's not finished, hah), but what I've seen is far beyond anything I've seen at another park on such a massive scale.

Now I'm scared to see what the upkeep cost/reliability is going to be. If lighting/wiring has an issue in the plants, it's not like it's easily replaceable.

And about the few seconds of footage- yes obviously a projection. One of many, but if anyone's been on Shanghai Pirates (or has seen the Captain Jack show at DHS), these are no ordinary projections.

Thanks for the insight. :)

I hope people don't destroy the plant life and surrounding grounds by trying to touch them. I hope upkeep and maintenance has stupidity accounted for.

Looking forward to more of your thoughts.

Joe certainly seems much happier and authentic when he's discussing this project, and Animal Kingdom in general than he does when he talks about that warehouse, fortress, thingy being built at DCA.

Yes! I noticed that too. That makes me happy.
