Wow that's what you call excessively over critical. Seeing that doesn't ruin it for 90 % of people and most people don't even see that. I am certainly glad they spent the money on other things than making the few people that wound up upset over that view of Everest. Really wow!

You do know this excessively critical angle is one Disney itself built? Disney itself brought onto itself. Disney sets standards and than people get mad when you hold them to it? I didn't make up my own "Matt's standards" no Disney set the bar not me. Sorry if we hold the company accountable.

I'm confused by this picture. What are all those buildings, hills, water tanks in the background? Why would someone photoshop the background?

ETA - just a funny angle that through me off. The hills in the background look much larger than I expected.
Has seeing the hills, water tanks and stuff ruined Avatar and all of DisneyWorld for you forever?

Okay, I've had enough. People keep mentioning hills in Florida. There are no hills!!! Expedition Everest is probably the highest "hill" in Florida. My yard has a 70' vertical drop spread out over 2/3 of an acre. That's a hill. Although, I technically live halfway up a rise to a plateau. The Grammar Police have spoken!!

Google maps totally ruined Disney World for me. I totally thought that I was in Asia while riding Everest until I researched it. Was heartbroken and had to quit bragging to all my friends that I had been nearly to the top Everest.

The pictures from Mako Madness were awesome. I will really be excited to see the finished project.

Can you be more specific, or post a picture?

I would assume the dirt lot?

I vaguely recall hearing some burbling online over the past year or so that some of the floating mountains will actually move/sway.

Is that the case? Has anyone heard anything similar?

I can all but guarantee that there will be some movement to them as pretty much every steel structure that size will have some sway to it. Up to 6" of movement is quite common for something like the Sears Tower.

No idea if there will be some sort of designed or enhanced sway.

Talking with the Imagineers on duty at the Pandora exhibit at D23, they said that some will move and some will have a waterfall feature of some sort. No real elaboration from there, other than sometimes the water will flow intermittently, like you'll need to step out of the way to avoid getting wet sometimes.

When cuts hit Avatar Land post opening that could be the first thing to go. Sad.

not a good idea, adding movement to those incredibly HEAVY structures... the only movement you are likely to see is the sway built into the structure itself for wind loading and seismic activity

I've asked in the past, but now we're 6 months further down the line, what's the odds on this being done by April/May 2017? Booking in advance from the UK, whilst I know it would be stupid to plan a holiday based on a single expansion, I'd like to maximise our chances :)

Agree, buildings have to dissipate part of the energy they receive by wind. I suspect they should be able to handle a lot(hurricanes)
