OK, here are a couple of interesting permits from March 11 that @danlb_2000 put in the permits thread but I haven't seen discussed:

491 West Savannah Circle - Morpho 801 Completion Pkg - Queue construction including steel framing, foundations and roofing
491 #A West Savannah Circle - Morpho 801 Queue EER Room construction completion including block foundations and roofing

@Tom would a "foundation" mean this is the start of an entirely new structure, or is it more likely that it is lower block walls built on the pilings and poured slabs we have seen?

To me it sounds like "Morpho 801" is "Flight of Passage" and the "Queue EER Room" is the part inside the show building we have been calling the boat ride. But apparently there is another building that has the main queue as well?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is EER?

There is discussion of these starting from this post in the construction progress thread. That thread is where I post all Avatar related permits.

I thought the movie was overhyped as well but pandora was absolutely gorgeous. The actual plot was nothing special. I'm glad they are going with the theme for that reason alone.
These are my thought exactly. I didn't think the movie was all that great but the world it created certainly was.

I've been a big supporter of the Pandora project from when it was first announced, as i know this Land is going to be fantastic beyond belief.
Regardless of people's opinions on the film it's based on, the Pandorian setting and the Attractions that shall be forthcoming will be stunning and unique.
I've been convinced of that from the start, as James Cameron is all about pushing boundaries and not taking the 'cheap way' out.
So this is going to be spectacular.

That being said, i just returned home from the recent D23 Expo and they had a nice little Pandora display area.
Here are some photos i snapped while passing through, and thought these would be worth sharing here as they qualify as 'concept art' in topic.

I won't post photos of the massive model as i am sure their are plenty of those elsewhere.
Here are some shots, and a few scans of materials that were on display at the D23 Expo.

Enjoy!

A series of 'travel posters' that were on display along the outside of the curtained display room -

A close up shot of one of the 'posters', showing the bioluminescence effects -

And now some (slightly blurred ) photos of the Pandorian fauna...showing various creatures one will encounter while exploring the area -
These were a challenge to photograph as it was very dark inside the display room showcasing the main model of the Land.

After viewing the main model , the maquettes, and a few more pieces of concept art and Na'vi relics, attendees were filed out the exit way by passing this life sized sculpture.
It was amazingly realistic...with 'skin', realistic glass eyes, and stunning detail work in the attire and hair.
This was being used as a 'photo spot' for those who wished to pose.

The best was yet to come, as when you exited a representitive from A.C.E. handed you one of these neat glossy brocheres 'promoting' your upcoming visit to Pandora.
A really neat little item....i was glad to have it.
Here are some scans i made so this can be shared with all fans of this project -
Notice the sly reference to one of the folks who worked on the film contained within the images.

In the upper left hand part of the poster, is that the waterfall from the floating mountains? Or is this waterfall going to be inside, where the big splash pit is?
While it's tough to conclude much from preliminary concept art like that, I do believe that's inside. There was a recent interview (I've completely forgotten when/where/how I heard it) in which an imagineer described the internal portion of the boat ride as having a very expansive feel that you wouldn't know you're indoors. A large waterfall like that, indoors where you might not be able to see the source, would be a good way to add to that expansive feel.

I'm not sure there's any way to infer a connection between that concept art and the splash-pit-looking-thing from the construction, but it does seem to be a potential fit.

I love the travel posters which are very reminiscent of the attraction posters that Disney has always had. I wonder if they would put those posters in the Oasis after Pandora opens as sort of an advertisement for the land.

That would not surprise me, as the shape of these images fit perfectly with the standard shape of the type of pole banners often used in the Parks.

The impression from the image is that this is a part of the interior of the boat ride experience.
So i would imagine the waterfall is part of that interior, but i could be completely wrong.

I am not as familiar with the current plans for the boat Attraction, and cannot recall if there was ever a time it was being considered to be both a indoor and outdoor experience.
That would be pretty neat...and take advantage of the time and effort invested in the outdoor themed setting already in place.
We shall just have to wait and see.

the only reason we here were thinking maybe indoor/outdoor was the blueprints for banshee, showing a show building and then the river running out and in... that didnt mean indoor/outdoor, it meant that the show buildings were linked.

What little we do have of the preliminary boat ride plans suggest a large convex screen. I'd bet good money the 'background' will be projected footage with everything in the foreground physical sets/AA's.

My personal speculation about an outdoor portion had to do with minute 3:03 in this video. At the time we all speculated that it looks like a massive cave opening with the boat ride being 'partially' outdoors via a cave. Its quite clear now that this is the rock arch and it is simply framing things in the far background.

I'd say it's also pretty clear from recent construction photos that there is no break in the wall large enough to send boats outside of the show building and back in again.

I don't remember hearing about this before. Do you mind elaborating?

It was shown in the leaked plans, but we don't know for sure if this is an accurate representation of the ride.

.

I wonder if it will something similar to Singapore's Pirates?
