AVATAR breaks ground

Anyone find if strange that a Na'Vi is posing with "Man", and that the Na'Vi is holding a shovel in each hand?

Surely, "breaking ground" means that you're affecting/changing/destroying the environment, which the Na'Vi would not be happy about?

Mind you, the facial expression of the Na'Vi looks like boredom and not wanting to be there...

No Cameron? This movie is/was his baby. Why isn't he there?

Interesting.

Well, you know what, here we go.

I love this site and the forums the most when there are actual things happening to talk about.
Spy photos, aerial shots, permits---progress! So, it's Avatar. Blah, blah, blah. I'm just
excited to see some construction, and some new things all around the park. Finally. Finally,
we'll have something to follow, watch, speculate on, that's really happening. In addition
to Instant-Harry-Potter-Land, that is. It will be fun to see more cranes on Disney property
once again.

Hint, Disney: Don't stop here. You have miles to go. You get an attaboy today. Keep it up. :)

Absolutely, totally agree. Happy to see something being built. BUT. I wish it were a Disney property and not an "outside source".

But that's all I'll say, we have enough Avatar bashing threads open already. In conclusion, YAY groundbreaking.

Breaking ground on a place that had actual trees on it 20 years ago? Uh, I think it will be fine..

@marni1971 On Facebook there are TONS of negative responses. Walt Disney World posted the image with a link and I'd say a good half, if not more, are negative views of this project. Inside the Magic (yeah, I know. I know.) has a solid line of negative comments. So do a few others I've glanced at. I don't really have time to read through everything on FB at the moment.

I haven't seen any "WOW!" comments posted yet.

And I still wanna know where James Cameron is and why he isn't there.

Well, something's better than nothing right? Even a movie whose shelf life was considerably short considering its box office performance...and sort of too out-of-league for most children...based on a pretty non-Disney movie....I DIGRESS!

Wait, are we not supposed to like Inside the Magic or something?

Their FB posts typically send my eyes rolling in my head so fast they could get charged with speeding.

It's probably just me though.
