Avatar Announcement 2-Year Anniversary: How Will YOU Celebrate?

I am going to celebrate by laughing at the article on Yahoo about how Arnold is going to be a villain in the second Avatar movie.....one of the top ten ways you know a movie is going to suck.

I hope he looks at Jack Sully and screams "CHILL BIRD BOY!"

I almost kinda sorta feel bad for AVATARLAND, being announced before Disney bought STAR WARS, and also before THE AVENGERS made a jillion dollars for Marvel at the box office. But then I realize James Cameron would still have the big bags of money from Titanic, Terminator 2 and Avatar (the movie) to comfort him even if this land doesn't go through. So he's set either way.

If Cameron's contract is anything like most licensing contracts, he still gets a healthy payout even if Disney changes their minds and never builds anything.

Watch Atlantis the Lost Empire instead.
And true to my word, I'm doing it right now.

It is a far cooler use of blue glowiness, magic floaty minerals and nasty mercs and it's designed by Mike Mignola so it's some glorious pulp adventure. Just like the original pulp adventure stuff they've been doing in international parks (Society of Explorers and Adventurers, Disney Sea) instead of here.

Maybe when it finally opens there may be a cause to celebrate....but I don't see any reason to do so at the moment, especially when there has been no real movement on the project.

But there has been significant development. During August's D23 Expo, it was revealed that glowing rocks had been created. And not just any ordinary glowing rocks...but 2-years worth of creativity behind these glowing rocks.
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling pumped about this. The rumor mill also suggests that for Avatarland's 4-year announcement anniversary in 2015, TDO will reveal the paper & drawing utensils which shall be used to formulate early concept art sketches.

Yeah but as you said, that was almost done 2 years after. Avatar hasn't broken ground. Maybe it'll be open by it's 5 year announcement anniversary!
There's a report of a pole in the ground at camp mm. It's on the rumors, avatar "progress" thread. We're waiting for a ladder photo to surface before we pop the cork off the champagne.

Because a effing spotlight wouldn't be sufficient, right? It's not like any of us, nay small children, will even be able to touch said rock. Remember the glowing plants? Ten minutes into opening the land, they'll be crushed if they bother with them. I actually hope not, because I don't like to see plants die.

Or dreams, but hey, sometimes s happens right...
