In the Disney parks, there are a few different ones sold. There is a regular blue book. Then there are a couple different kinds that have spaces for photos (but only about 14 autographs or so). One book is red with Mickey on it, I believe. Then there is a pink princess book.

As for pens, Sharpies work well. Just make sure that the pens are long and thick enough, easy to grasp for character hands/paws/whatever.

I use Sharpies and those always work the best. They may bleed a little through the page but not very bad. The Clickable Sharpie are really nice as well.

Are the mini Sharpies okay, or too hard to handle?

The best pen/marker by far is the RETRACTABLE SHARPIE brand markers. There's no cap to lose and they're easy for the characters to hold. We bought a pack of 4 and used a different color for each park, that way we knew where we got that particular autograph.

They are too tiny to use unfortunately.

you can buy the autograph books anywhere on property. At the parks,DTD, even your resorts will have them. We bought the sorcerer mickey pen that was right next to the book and that worked good.

The clicky sharpies are AWESOME. The big blue pens too that they sell in the stores as well as the princess pens work well. But try to stay away from: Pencils (Especially Golf pencils, I swear it's been done) Crayons, Gel Pens because they tend to dry up or not work, Mini Sharpies or Mini anything. Just think, the bigger the better

I like the autograph books that have the pockets where you can insert the picture. I'm not a scrapbooker (although I have the stuff to do it :ROFLOL: ), so these work best for me. The character signs on one page, and you put the picture in the pocket on the page right next to it. These can be found in the parks, and the resorts.

I found that free pens from companies around here that we have collected work great. Most are retractable and big because they are advertising something. I took about 5 of them with me on the last trip. That way if I lost one no big deal because 1) they were free and 2) I had more. Most of the ones I have look like the blue one or princess one they sell.

Thats funny we do the exact same. I have a giant Nokia pen and the characters seem to love it because its so big. The bigger the pen the easier it will be for the characters.
