Attractions You Skip

When I go, I will only skip the "carnival" type rides (ie. stuff you can go on at the fair). This includes: The Carousel, Magic Carpets of Agrabah, Dumbo, Astro Jets, Triceratops Spin, Primeaval Whirl, and Grand Prix Speedway. Currently, I will not visit Hall of Presidents (I'll go again after 2008). But while I thoroughly dislike Test Track, Under New Management, and Aerosmith's Audio Assault (sorry, Rock n' Rollercoaster) I will still go on them (next time I'll take headphones for RNRC). Since I can't make the trip to Disney World very often, to pass something up that I can't see at Disneyland is just unthinkable. That being said, I guess I have to admit that I don't go into "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience," but will go in everything else that is at both Parks.

MK:
None

Epcot:
Mission Space (I still have not tried it, I am afraid of getting sick and ruining an entire day)

MGM:
Who Wants to Be Millionaire (Just not interested, but I plan on it for our next trip)

AK:

We always try to hit just about everything. As was said in a previous post is that all of the rides and shows should be experienced at least once. If you do not like them at that point don't go back.

It's really funny reading these because a lot of the attractions people have listed are ones I make a point of to always go on, whether it be for sentimental reasons, kitsch value, etc. For instance, at MK, I always have to do the Riverboat, Tom Sawyer's Island, the Tiki Birds, Country Bear Jamboree and the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. At Epcot, it's always the American Adventure and the River of Time.

Are you sure about that? There's no guarantee you'll like the new closing speaker any more so than the current one. :)

Over the years, I believe I've ridden on everything in MK.

Epcot: I've never seen the movies at Canada, France, or China.

MGM: Never seen WWTBAM, or the Little Mermaid show, but they are on our list of things to see.

AK: Conservation Station, Rafiki's Planet Watch

There are quite a few things that we don't go on, like the Mad Tea Cups (no spinning!!!), Dumbo, etc. Some of the 'omissions' depend on who we are there with - if we go with another family, the kids at least ride most of the things that us adults don't. :)

Some of the attractions I used to skip are now some of my favorites.

TTA and Millionnaire I ALWAYS skipped b/c they "were stupid" but have provided great fun.

Aladdin and Triceratop I have great fun on too, having previously discarded them as "boring."

And Tom Sawyer Island is great despite my intial negative thoughts I had.

Always try the new rides and attractions, they may jsut surprise you.

hmmm, interesting thread indeed. This almost requires more thought than favorite attraction. Anyway here is my list.

Magic Kingdom:
Tomorrowland:
Stitch - Did once, never again.
Astro Orbiter - Nothing special, long wait
Toontown Fair:
I haven't even set foot here in a few years
Fantasyland:
Peter Pan's Flight - Done it, like it, just by the time I get around to Fantasyland the lines are absurd
Snow White - long wait, not too great
Dumbo - Nothing special
Small World - A classic to be sure, not skipped near as much as the others on the list, but it usually falls below the radar
Adventureland
Aladdin monstrosity that blocks the flow of that plaza: - That camel just spit on me, I'm walking away.

EPCOT:
Imagination Pavillion - Journey just isn't any good anymore, never seen HISTA
Universe of Energy - A long show starring Ellen never attracted me
Any of the films in World Showcase: This does not include Malestrom the ride but does include the post-show.

Disney-MGM Studios:Sounds Dangerous: - not entertaining enough to do again
Animal Kingdom:
The Whole park. It certainly has it's highlights (Dinosaur), and I don't mind it really but it pales in comparison to the other 3 parks so when it's a choice of where to go the others always win out. My attitude about AK will most certainly change with Everest, which will finally enable me to spend a sufficient time there to make it worth going.

In addition to the above listed I have to add most shows, seen many of them at least once, they just don't have as much re-visitablility to me.

MK:

Splash Mountain - don't like drops on rides
Big Thunder Mountain - although thinking about going on it this trip
Swiss Family Treehouse - bad panic attack the first and only time I went on it
Pirates of the Carribean - bad experience on the one in Disneyland, drops scared the heck out of me so I didn't go on this ride for YEARS...finally rode it in April and decided it wasn't entirely terrible (the drop; I do enjoy the rest of the ride)
Aladdin - just not interested
Stitch

MGM:

Rockin' Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror
Indy - just not into this show and it was having a lot of problems last time we went

Animal Kingdom:

really not a fan of the whole park, but we do usually spending a morning there to see if anything's changed

Epcot:

Norway - the drop thing
China - never seen it, might this trip
Canada - see above
France - see above

I'm sure you have heard this time and time again, and even though you are not a fan of drops, I would suggest trying splash mountain just because it is so much more than a couple of drops. In my estimation and many others an this board, splash mountain is one of the best rides in the world not because of but inspite of it's thrill factor. It is visually amazing. If you are a fan of dark rides, this is a must. If you could suck it up and just go for it, I guarentee you it would be worth it.

With big thunder there really aren't many drops and it doesn't go too fast, it's just wild and a lot of fun.

Either way have fun :D
