Here it is. My first entry since I got back from WDW in July. Which was the first time that I saw Spectromagic. (Its even when I took that pic) I still miss the Electrical Light Parade. Anyways, I hope you all like my design. :D

"GENERAL RULES

Photos MUST be altered in a way that makes them appear less like a photograph. So, filters in photoediting programs WILL be acceptable. All entries that include unaltered photographs of anything will be deemed unacceptable!!! "

I don´t get it... what are you talking about?? Christopher´s? Of course it is a photo! He said he took it. Doesn´t the design on top of it count? What about the added stars? And the word "spectromagic"? I don´t think those were in the original photograph he took, so for me, it´s considered "altered".

Am I making sense? :veryconfu

Yes your making perfect since. I guess i took MSU's rules a diffrent way then everyone else did.. I understood them as All pictures have to be altered to appear other then a photograph.. The reason I pointed out his entry was because the very bottom seemed to be just a plain picture. I didnt know that was allowed. Im sorry .. Great entry. ;)

Thanks for the support Justin.

and I think you are right. I think just adding stars is not altering it. I think you have to use a filter to change the way the photo looks. Like my photo. I put it through a sharping filter and then one to blur it.

Okay, I was going to wait till later to post this image. But given all the commotion I'd like MSU thumbs up (acceptable) or down (not). Although the images on the bottom are unaltered, they can be seen as images painted by dots and lines of color. MSU...let me know if this is acceptable, if not i'll yank it down and start a new one. Thanks! And yes it's still fun

in reworks.

Here is what I was going to do: (I was going to insert this animation into a poster I had made) (I made this preview for you smaller, the one for the poster was better quality)

pretty cool! Maybe we could have a "anything goes contest", with all the bells and whistles. In moderation of course!!! So long as there isn't a poster flashing black and white and all colors inbetween

Well the whole poster was that really big in the middle of the page with the words SpectroMagic on top of it and while the bird changed colors, the letters had a light effect. I will try to make it small enough to upload and show you what I mean.

Here is the text effect without the background color changes. (I dont want to give away to much) (I also dont feel like compressing it)

Geez, look what I've missed.

OK, look, everyone. I'm not sure why everyone all of the sudden doesn't understand the poster contest rules. Everybody seemed to understand last time.

By "all photos must be altered" I meant just that. NO unaltered photos allowed.

Guru, your idea was cool, but it doesn't AT ALL fit into this contest. Disney attraction posters ARE NOT animated.

Christopher, awesome looking poster. However, we are sticking with the Disney style of ride poster, which means no straight photos even if you have put an awesome design next to it.

DisneyCP, same goes for yours, awesome, but the photos at the bottom do need to be changed somehow.

This is the reason I gave extra time to complete this contest. Making something without photographs takes much more time and effort than cutting and pasting photos. Also, other than size, this is the only thing that makes this contest different from the wallpaper contests.

For examples take a look at the entries in these contests. NO UNALTERED PHOTOS!!!! Think Disney Attraction Posters!!!!

Also, wdwcrazy, photographs are taken from websites all over the web for wallpaper contests as well. It isn't a big deal. This is just for fun. Especially a logo that is available on over a thousand websites like Spectromagic. GOT IT?

But you see it isn't all over the web, it was made by someone for his site and it was taken by other people without asking or even giving credit. They just chopped off the .com and say hey look what I did.

But you're the boss.

Whomever "he" is didn't make this on his/her own. He/she PLAGIARISED the Spectromagic logo from Disney and then altered it, and yes, it IS all over the web.

Also, you don't need to treat people like they're stupid. We all know what plagiarise means.

I agree......I'm sure he didn't copyright that image, since it would be illegal for him to do so. If you're going to quote laws, make sure you know what you are talking about.

But you're the boss.

I hope you are not referring to mine. I created my logo from scratch with a combination of layer and lighting effects in photoshop. The same as I always do for these contests. This should be pretty obvious since mine is not even the same font.
