Sounds like a great plan
We could have lots of good fun
I'm gonna stop now

(BTW, not to be a wet blanket, Sansaarai, but "The smell of Rome burning" has 6 syllables. Might I suggest "The smell of burnt Rome?" :) )

geosphere it is
triangles put together
makes walt real happy

okay, im bad a haikus

anyway, what i like the most (on top of the ride itself) are the little things people dont know....

..or maybe you do...

ever wonder why you dont get wet when you are underneath the ball? You would think that the water would roll down the sides and collect in the middle soaking the guests...

well....the ball was engineered (imagineered) to collect the water in little "tunnels" and "gutters" (for lack of better words) and the water gets collected and redirected down the sides of the ball and down a tube which is used to replenish the lagoons. Kind of a recycling effect for the water!

also, i love the idea of the whole ride. Yea, it needs some changing, ie. the cars and the track (last time i was on the speaker didnt work so i couldnt hear the narration...kinda bummed me out cause i was videotaping it).

It is so hard to imagine, at least for me anyway, that the ride is all inside of the dome! Maybe its cause as a kid i couldnt believe that it could house anything spectacular because it is so big, yet looks kinda small for the amount of stuff it has it in. (confused?)

:veryconfu

meeeeeeeee tooooo!

Anyway, this is the first ride i go on when i enter epcot! always has and always will be. i also love the way it is illuminated at night with the shade of purpleish/blue. It is so awesome!!!!

:king: of all rides!!!

2 Thumbs up!

No Haiku from me, but I do give SE 2 big thumbs up.:sohappy: I've always loved this ride, and still do. It's one of the few originals with a great story left. World of Motion, Journey into Imagination, and Horizons are gone, so SE is all there is of the old Epcot animatronic rides.

Oh, and I just can't get enough of that burning Rome smell...

Spaceship Earth is great..........

Only thing I don't like is the Wait time around Christmas.......the whole queue is filled, it's ridiculous, I have to wait till 8:50 to get on it during Christmas.

This is one of the few rides that I loved both before and after their major rehab. I miss 'Tomorrow's Child', but I like the music at the end now. I kind of liked the cheesy 80's style ending. I thought the narration was good then, and I think it's good now. All around, a great ride. If you leave at like 4 in the afternoon and it's really hot out, it's nice to cool off in it.

OK!! Here we go...

I've been waiting anxiously for this one!! :animwink:

I have always loved this ride. Every trip to Disney, I make a point to visit SE. Like most have said, this is one of the few original attractions left in Epcot - and probably the only one of those that I will continue to visit during upcoming trips.

Sooooooooooooo...

Two weeks ago, I ventured into Epcot - my first trip since April '01 - and waited for opening crowds to die down to once again experience SE.

As afternoon rolled around, my friends and I headed over to the ball and saw that there was no wait - so we eagerly jumped on! We get into the cars - which always bring back childhood memories - and head up into the ride, which is very dark at the beginning.

Suddenly, I was bombarded by LARGE, BRIGHT, BLARING TELEVISIONS with the message, "Please know your car will turn around. Please remain in your vehicle" or something to that effect.

<pause for effect>

Now, let me say that I am a very calm, very easy-going person. But as I was trying to rub the BRIGHT SPOTS out of eyes, all I could think was, "WHAT THE CRAP WAS *THAT*??!!!"

Ok... so the spots went away... I calmed down and enjoyed the ride. All of my childhood joy returned, watching Disney's version of history, now with the soothing voice of Jeremy Irons.

Excitement abounds as we approach my favorite part of the ride.... the TOP! Whoo-hoo! We hit the top of the track and SUDDENLY:

"Remain seated please - your car is now turning around - Remain seated please"

This in a LOUD ANNOYING VOICE - overandoverandoverandoverandover

Here's my thought again - "WHAT THE CRAP WAS *THAT*??!!"

Ok so, if anyone is still with me here.... could you please tell me when and WHY Disney added these extremely annoying points to one of my favorite attractions. Seriously, at the top of the ride, I wanted to get out of my car, find the speaker blaring that annoying voice-over, and beat it to death!! This coming from a very calm, easy-going person! :hammer:

Does anyone agree with me on this?? Maybe it's just me.. I dunno!

Have a WONDERFUL day!! :)

I totally agree. The loud female voice combined with the monitors is totally unnessiary. But of course remember, Americans are getting stupidier by the day and must be protected from themselves. Just the other day I bought a box of nails which had "Do not put contents in mouth" printed on the side. It's a good thing it did, otherwise I would have had NO idea what the perscribed amount of oral contact with sharp metal objects was. Phew, that was a close one.

Now, if only Disney could get the spanish translation of the "Please stand clear of the doors" message on the monitor to play BEFORE the doors close, we might well save hundreds, no, thousands of lives every year.

WARNING: SIDEWALK MAY BE FIRM. FOR YOUR SAFETY AND COMFORT PLEASE TRY NOT TO FALL DOWN

Bairstow,

LOL that was really funny. I laughed really hard at the nail comment, but then the sidewalk really got me laughing. Im gonna print that phrase out and post it on my bulletin board.

hello

I love this ride and this is the first ride we head to when we get to Epcot. I love the story that is told of communication and the fact that you come down from the top backwards. It is one of my favourite rides in Disney.

*only 70 days to go*
