Attention Shoppers I need a great gift idea.

I am going to Disney World again in August and I need a really great gift idea for my wife.
On previous trips I have gone off by myself and purchased presents for my wife and son and given them as Christmas gifts.
In 2007 the “Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas" Tee-shirt I got my son at Bay View Gifts and the “Crabby” Tee-shirt I got my wife Mickey’s Philhar Magic were surprisingly big hits. However my wife has already stated that she doesn’t want anymore Grumpy, or Crabby clothing. She said “She likes Disney gifts from me and if I buy her something this time it should a little more subtle and sedate, and no more Mickey Mouse watches, or coffee mugs please.”
I would like to get her something really special this time, I have looked on-line but haven’t seen anything special. I will be in Mouse Gear and the Main Street Emporium I’m not sure if I’ll get to Downtown Disney,
Does anyone have any ideas and/or does anyone know of special gifts you can only get in one location like the Crabby Tee-shirts at Mickey’s Philhar Magic?

Thank You

I have a great idea and I thinkit is the empourium that you can get it at. It is the small store on main street that sells glass items.

Last yr my hubby purchased a clear glass mug with Apprentice Micky etched in and then got my name engraved on it. I believe that it was no more than 40.00 all together, but I loved it! He then also got our girls each there own little glass w/ their fav character on it and their names engraved.

One other thing he purchased like 2 yrs ago was a glass desk plauqe/ ornament and it had the castle on it and he had our last name engraved w/ the yr. Oh and you can also have them do an etched family picture on something and to me those hold so much more of the memories.

I hope that helps.

If she likes jewelry, you could get her a necklace w/ her favorite character on it.
You could also look for a figurine of her favorite character if she likes those.
I always get a WDW t-shirt w/ one of my favorite characters on it.
I also like the lithographs - I have bought several of those & framed them when I got home.
There are so many things to choose from, it's hard to decide.

I always get at least one pair of earrings. I have some beautiful ones that you have to look at really closely to realize they are Disney. You chould check out the shops in the countries at Epcot for something different.

Why not get a frame from one of the Disney stores (Mouse Gear) and put a picture of the two of you in it. They have so many different and cute ones. I like the dated ones.

I love the Swarovski jewelled miniatures at Arribas Brothers. Also my husband usually buys me an imagineering or art book and keeps it as a Christmas gift.

Yes...I almost forgot...I always get a family photo taken in front of the castle & purchase a nice WDW frame to put it in.

As was said, the area across from the Emporium (Glass, watches, jewelery, collectable, art) has some nice stuff

If she is into collectables, then any of the "Art of Disney" stores are an option.

Someone else also posted about the shops in EPCOT. In Germany there is an "Egg Artist" - Her name is Jutta Laviosser or something like that - I don't have her card on me. She paints eggs, from chicken up to ostrich. About NOW is when you have to put in a request for a custom egg for delivery by Christmas. She does traditional German fairy tail scenes, paintings from pictures, Disney themed things, - just about anything you can think of.

They are not exactly cheap - a chicken egg, in a display bell, is about $100 - larger eggs are more, but they are really nice. I gave my parents one as a gift once, and I have one for myself as well.

She is also a very nice person just to chat with.

My sister purchased name engraved glass mugs from arribas in DTD for christmas gifts. Look for them on the web. Also, the christmas shop in DTD has create your own ornaments. The artists make each one unique with names, dates and embellishments.

Not cheap, but the 3-d etchings inside plexiglass done from a live photo taken with a special camera. Takes a day or two to process, but I had one done of my son as a gift for his mother... it was gorgeous!

They did mine in MouseGears.

I personally love to go to World Of Disney to check out what sterling jewelry they have in the room they have of just jewelry. Go to the back counter they'll be in the glass cases. I have two dainty necklaces I got there over the years that I love. They also have lovely gold jewelry if you want to spend more. :)

gift idea

How about a pick-a-pearl in Japan Pavillion or Downtown Disney? I have never done it myself but have read some really great stories and seen some beautiful pics on the boards. It is on my "must do" list for our Sept trip! You can choose a subtle Disney setting for your pearl, or completely none Disney setting.
