At the airport I feel I am always selected for the back scatter scanning. My wife is not and just goes through the metal detector.

While that's my impression, it is hard to say I'm being profiled. the sample size is too small. That would seem to be the case here too. Felt like profiling to the OP, but a sample size of 2 is pretty small to make that conclusion.

Do you have "SSSS" on your ticket? That is a code for the "random" screening. My brother has had 'SSSS" on his ticket every time he has flown since 9/11. It's amazing how he is randomly selected EVERY time. It's a running joke in our family. He's on a list or something. I had TSA pre-check now so I just go through. But since I've had kids they haven't had me do extra checks and I've either been pregnant or had a small child since they started the back scatter.

I was randomly selected last night. I didn't have anything on me and wore form-fitting clothes. The funny thing was the security people kept questioning if I have a phone and I made it completely and utterly clear that I'm not married to a cell phone like the rest of the population. They seemed to have a problem with my not having a phone! Can I just go through the metal detector of shame so I can renew my pass and do Haunted Mansion over and over?

I felt harassed. What difference does it make what exact comments were made? They were not telling me to have a magical day. I was made to feel uncomfortable and that should not happen at Disney. That is my point. When I went through security the morning following my incident, I watched as female after female (plus size or not) was pulled aside for extra screening.

I'm sorry if you boys don't understand feeling uncomfortable in the presence of a group of men in an uncomfortable situation. Your inconsiderate comments toward me pretty much speaks to why I felt harassed in the first place, but I have been around these boards long enough to know not to take you seriously.

Since attacks are statistically carried out by men, I don't think the security company has a snowballs chance of catching much of anyone with the current process.

Thanks to those that gave me the benefit of the doubt and could read between the lines of me just wanting to make sure other visitors, female or not, are not made to feel uncomfortable. I expect it at the airport, not Disney.

Oh please. This makes me roll my eyes so hard. No, there's not a grand conspiracy formulated against you by a rental metal detector company.

And I feel that including that bit about only men doing bad things, while statistically true or not, is not needed and is a bait to start an argument. I don't think discrimination is your problem, I think you like drama.

Everyone should have to go through. They do it better at the Grand Californian entrance to DCA. Granted, they don't have the same amount of people coming in, but implement that on a grander scale.

The OP's last response was February 1, 2016, over two months ago. Seems she dropped it. So should everyone else.

Probably because what she experienced wasnt harassment. I'd drop complaints too if i knew they had no merit.

Yes, that is possible.

I just don't want to see the thread get out of hand and nasty again. I even had to check myself because I got a little inappropriate, too. The Mom made an appearance, which was shocking, given the last time a mod appeared in the Disneyland forum was when the Rocket Rods was still open in Tomorrowland.

The OP hasn't been responding. Kind of pointless to keep quoting them at this point.

The same thing here, my wife has never gone through the machine but I get picked most of the time. I never give it a thought beyond it's one more step to get to the aircraft.

If the crowd I was traveling with was lets say 10 or 15 and I was always picked when everyone else was skipped over then maybe I might start to think about it.

Probably because us left coasters are a bit more sensible and sane than those WDW folks : )

Hahaha Some of us are! I think the WDW fan and the DLR fan are different from each other. I read some of the comments here from WDW fans and I think to myself, what in the world? But I bet if the ultra Disneyland fans posted here, the ones in the social clubs, give nicknames to the face characters, recite the attraction scripts, etc., we'd be looked at as the weirdos lol.

I discovered last night that the metal detectors become irrelevant if someone spills Starbucks in the line! So if you don't want to be a randomly screened embarrassed assumed criminal, just spill coffee!
