No, DVC members are not eligible for free dining, since we don't "pay cash" for our rooms. Free dining is just a lure to get people to pay rack rate for their hotel rooms. Our rooms are paid for upfront. ;)

Exactly. The offer isn't just "free dining", it's "free dining with the purchase of a multi-day hotel stay at full rack rate AND theme park tickets." That offer is available to everyone...assuming you're willing to pay for the hotel room and tickets.

Disney will not simply give free food to DVC members using their points and (in many cases) heavily discounted Annual Passes.

I like free dinning, you have to do the math to see if the the savings from the free food passes the cost of the room at full rate to determine if it's a deal or not. We found that it was for us.

Using our DVC points going forward on all of our trips we will not be able to use free dinning any longer but we enjoyed it when we did :)

Exactly. If someone wants free dining that much, do the math and if it seems like free dining is a better deal, bank your points and use them next year. For four people all 10 and over that can be worthwhile. What DVC affords members is an opportunity to get a good discount on lodging without waiting for a promotion and then hoping you can go during the eligibility period and get the deal before it runs out.

Freaking relax, it was just a question. I have obviously struck a deep nerve that is running through the mortal wound that disney has inflicted upon you. All I was wondering was can I get a free dole whip? Didn't mean to stir up childhood trauma that has damaged/changed/hardened your hearts!

Don't like the answers? Don't ask the questions. I don't think anyone burned you in effigy. We just collectively pointed out a: only people paying full price for the room and park tickets get free dining which DVC members don't; b: you can still "take advantage" of the promotion if you want but it is separate and you can bank your DVC points for another time; c: DVC members still get discounts others don't so it's not like we're necessarily getting hosed on thus deal and d: "dinning" is the incorrect spelling but it's teh internetz so grain of salt. If that all set your back to the wall like it's Assault On Precinct 13 and you're out of ammo that's the fault of no one here.
