We unfortunately are. Character meets use to be random and somewhat special but due to so many guests demanding such an experience they were forced to set up a hug n shove assembly line.

LOL :ROFLOL: I never thought of it like that but you're right. Thankfully my daughter has only ever wanted to see one character (Lotso, and we were first in line that morning) and my son hates the idea of "meeting" them so we skip out on this every year. Besides, we see them at character meals. :)

I've never been, but I always liked the Value concept they used at Disneyland Paris.

They don't have large characters pinned to buildings...instead they have themed Resorts to a specific time or place....just like our Moderate/Deluxes. I seem to remember a Frontier themed Resort and a Yacht Club Eastern Seaboard style Resort there. Neither were Deluxe Resorts. The DLP Values are themed to a a different place...I thought that was a better fit than the All-Stars.

Well MK has 17 million guests annually, disney can't have something as special unless there is an additional cost to it and or reservations are involved.

Yeah, but those so called DLP "Value" resorts cost over $250 a night. Not to mention, Disney World's original value resort was the Caribbean Beach Resort. They only switched to so-called moderate resorts when the All-Star Resorts opened more than 5 years later offering the general public something even cheaper.

So yes if you wanted less lodging options at WDW and travelled back in time to the late 80's then yes WDW's resort levels was alot like Disney Paris.:animwink:
