Aren't You Tired Of Disney World?

Let's face it. You and me are always given a hard time by folks who just don't understand why we prefer Disney World over any other vacation destination. If they havent been there, they just think it's some amusement park with kiddie rides. And we all know it's not easy to explain what Disney World is really like. I usually start by explaining that Disney property is on exclusive land about the size of San Franciso.

Aren't you tired of Disney World? Isn't it the same exact thing over and over? Think of all the cool stuff we can do. I'd like to compile a list of things that can be done at WDW so we can be armed and ready when we are asked by the non-believers.

Example:
1. You can go boating at Disney World
2. You can lay on the beach at Disney World
3. You can go on a bass fishing excursion at Disney World
4. You can go to dinner theater at Disney World
5.
6.
7. ?

what you got to add?

Ill never go tired and every trip back is a different experience.

Go Bears!

You can scuba dive, go on an African safari, ride a Segeway, soar over California, tour a greenhouse & discover 60 crops, snorkel with sharks, and tour a locomotive. And, my favorite, you can leave the real world behind and escape to a truly magical place where there is always something new to see & do.

I actually don't even like regular amusement parks. I can go every once in awhile, but I'm not into thrill rides, and that's what amusement parks pretty much concentrate on. Besides that, those tend to be the same every time you go.

What I love about Disney, and I'm not sure if this will come through as clearly as I'd like, is that there's a story around all of it. You're not just going on a roller coaster, you're in a stretch limo careening through traffic. You're not just in some run-of-the-mill haunted house, you're traveling through a deliciously old-fashioned house whose owner killed himself (or was killed) for love....or maybe you have a completely different storyline for it! Maybe you change the story every time you go in, or explore different ideas, or maybe you just go in to cool off.

Anyway, it's not just the same old amusement park every time you go. Like you've all mentioned, there are so many different things that can be done. My personal favorite reason is that I get to exercise my imagination every time I go! (edit: Unfortunately, that reason is a pretty weak defense against the naysayers. LOL)

You can have fun and not have to be around those who aren't open-minded enough to give Disney World/Disneyland a chance.

On a more serious note:
1. You can study the architecture and marvel and the myriad of styles all put together in a way that flows. Most cities are a jarring mess of styles possessing neither rhyme nor reason.
2. You can see the amazing uses of Audio-Animatronics and discover they are capable of doing so much more than the Chuck E. Cheese side-to-side jerk.
3. You can visit a different Park for six days in a row, and if you consider Downtown Disney/DisneyQuest/Pleasure Island like a Park, you've just filled a full week and never gone to the same place twice.
4. You can golf at different PGA-quality golf courses.
5. You can miniature golf at different courses.
6. You could visit a different dance club every night of the week at Pleasure Island.
7. You can "swim" with dolphins at Epcot, as well as scuba dive.
8. You can take backstage tours of varying depth to show you sights most won't see.
9. You can actually learn new things, if you allow it to happen.
10. You could shop 'til you drop - probably for more than a week - and never hit the same store twice.
I'd go on, but as mentioned at the top, if the person doesn't want to "get it," they won't.

Yea, I just laugh at the non-believers, cause they don't know what their missing, and it's one less person waiting in line in front of me. :D

Sister- "Why do you love Disney World so much? Does it really change that much every year?"

Me- "Well, things are always added every year...and there are always new things I could try...places to eat...tours to take."

Sister- "I just think that you'd get tired of Disney World and go to a place that isn't basically always the same, year after year."

Me- "Well, where are you going this year for vacation?"

Sister- "The beach."

You forgot something on that note;

ME- yea your right every wave that comes in is never the same. :veryconfu

But on a serious note, for me when we pass under the welcome sign, all of our problems that are outside the world stay there, and in all 15 visits we have had, have never followed us in. :D
next visit, April 10th to 15th. CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I live 90 miles from Disney and I am always so suprised with the number of people that say "Oh I've never been there"! They have no clue. Anyhow I have to add to the list:

You can got to Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon, what a blast!

No other resort/theme park I've been to has thought of *everything* like Disney has- it's a completely submersive experience. The atmosphere is simply incredible.

When I get the question, my answer is obvious (to me, anyway)...

It's the one vacation spot where I can take my family (wife, two teenage sons, and little ol' me) and we ALL have a good time, everyday, at every moment. No one argues about what to do, no one gets "dramatic" (teen angst, what fun), we can always find someplace to eat that everybody can get something they'll like no matter where we are, and the only complaint I hear is, "I'm tired. But at least it's a good tired."

At WDW, there is something for all us. For me, as a parent, it doesn't get any better than that for choosing WDW.

Never mind that I would pout for months if everyone wanted to go somewhere else on vacation.

What makes you want to "conver" so called non believers?

WDW is not a religion. It is a place people can choose to go on their holidays.

Some people love doing that whilst others prefer exploring Nepal.
