Aren't You Tired Of Disney World?

The magic catches us all. Every trip, every year is different. My 17 year old daughter keeps her mouse ears in her dresser and pulls them out every trip. My 21 year old son wants to do the College Program. My wife (who can't go on most rides) hunts down pins like a detective and wants to decorate our entire basement in a Disney Theme.

My sister and her "street smart" teenage kids came with us last year. The kids were pretty skeptical about the experience. I now have multiple pics of they hugging tigger.

There are probably a million reasons, but the atmosphere, the attractions, the fireworks, the music, the ever-changing list of things to do, the pleasure of finding a hidden mickey in a new spot, the really fun restaurants, the immersive shows...................Wow.

And for a high stress business man, I can leave everything behind for a week and just play.

I take other vacations and enjoy them very much. But they aren't DISNEY.

Where else can you get a Mickey Premium Bar, and eat it as messily as you'd like, without being laughed at?
Where else can you dine with princesses, movie stars, and villains, all in the same day?
Where else can you go horse back riding through the woods at daybreak, and then go watch tigers in Asian ruins the rest of the day?

I never get tired of WDW. I've been there nearly 15 times, and I always find something new, even in attractions that I know by heart and have ridden hundreds of times. It's a chance to just relax, and act like a kid again, and not have to worry about appearances. It's a chance to spend a week with the people I love, in the place I love, and not have to worry about things getting interrupted, or having to worry about when my next project is due.

Fort Wilderness has tons of outdoor activities for you to do. We go horseback riding alot there.

I've been to Disney World so many times, I've almost lost count. And it is never dull and always fun and different.

You can eat whatever you want to, from an incredible selection of great restaurants, and not gain any weight because of all the walking you do around the parks. :slurp:

1 You can be 8 years old and nobody outside of your family will see what a little kid you are.
2 You can sneak in your hotel room at 3:00 in the morning after EMH.
3 You can travel to a place where making your trip magical and having your dreams come true is a main priority.

What a neat thread topic!

I know exactly how that feels. I've even had trouble justifying going to Disneyworld for my honeymoon (hello, #1 honeymoon destination in the country?!) People are like "this is your honeymoon, wouldn't you rather go somewhere else you have never been?"

My answer is no way!! If you have never been there, you wouldn't understand why. I couldn't think of any other place I would rather be.:)

I'm with you on that one. The past two times my mother-in-law has tagged along. I think its nice to have her. She takes the kids and me and hubby go our own way until meal time. Works out great. Plus I don't have to deal with her all day!!!:sohappy:

I don't think this one has been mentioned...where else can you go where 95% of the employees are so friendly and helpful to the paying customers? I never get tired of good service. I do get tired of bad service, the 51 weeks out of every year that I'm not at WDW.

About two years ago, my brother and I were both in Orlando at the same time attending separate conferences. We were each there for about a week, so we decided to get together each night after the conferences had ended for the day. The first night I suggested we go hang out at Pleasure Island, and he had no interest because it was Disney (my brother is not a Disney fan at all). I somehow managed to talk him into giving it a chance and he absolutely loved it. He ended up wanting to go back to Pleasure Island every night the rest of that trip. Then last year, he and I went back to Orlando for vacation and he wanted to go back to Pleasure Island several times. I asked him why he had resisted it when I first suggested going and he said that he imagined it would be a place with Disney characters everywhere. I remember this surprised me because I had always made a point of telling him it wasn't like that at all. I think it's one of those things where people have to experience it themselves, otherwise they just can't grasp the concept that there are parts of WDW that have nothing to do with theme parks.

I just had someone say to me "You're going AGAIN?!?! Why don't you go somewhere else? Somewhere where your kids can learn something? Why don't you go to North Dakota?" (I'm not kidding, she actually said this to me.) I looked at her and said "Have you ever been to North Dakota? (I don't mean to offend anyone who lives in North Dakota. I live in Wisconsin, not a real "tourist destination" either) anyway, I told her there were plenty of things to learn at Disney. (Hello, EPCOT!!!!) She has never been there and she told me that she'll never take her kids there. They're planning a trip to Mexico next year.

Yup, bet her kids would much rather be in Mexico than at Disneyworld... :veryconfu

So I add - a place where you can learn as much as your imagination allows!!!!!

For the same price she could take her kids to Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, the UK, Canada, Africa, and Asia.

For me it would be all the free stuff we get!! If you work there and the discounts. That's why I love Disney a lot.

If you work there: RESPORT HOPPING!!

I also love the detail. The flower beds, big giant spaceship earth <3
It's always changing and when you work there, you see more then you want to, but the magic always remains in my heart.

Food and wine festival! :slurp:
Japanese goodies!! :slurp:

The children (when they waddle over to see mickey) That would always put a smille on my face. I'm a big weeper so I'd cry when I'd see the children having such a good time. When it was dead at Character Connections (yes dead, no line) Mickey would always give me a hug!! GAH!!

And of course, when you're at disney, you forget about the horrible world you live in.
