Yesterday (May 26th), I was at Disney's Hollywood Studios waiting for the 4PM Beauty and the Beast show. Some audience members near the front began waving towards the back of the theater, like they were trying to get attention to something happening up front. Two dancers came on stage to start the show, and there was fog on the stage, but the dancers quickly exited. Mrs. Potts' voice came on over the speaker saying the show would be delayed. There was some commotion going on down front, but I couldn't see it from where I was sitting. Some audience members were standing to try to see what was going on. Cogsworth's voice came on, also announcing a delay. Then a few moments later, they played the Mrs. Potts' announcement again. Then a generic male announcer came on saying the show was cancelled. I still have no idea what was going on. Maybe someone fainted? I hope everyone there, and at Animal Kingdom today, is all right. I hate seeing people's vacation ruined.

Given that Savannah Circle is a “road” within Animal Kingdom, it doesn’t look like the person made it

I amazes me that when you consider the number of people that attended WDW any given day that it doesn't happen more often. That is a grouping of people about the size of a moderate sized city. The heat, the activity, the stimulation all could combine to be a very bad situation.

A witness in a Facebook group I’m part of said that from what her family saw, it was a pregnant woman (not from an official source so obviously unconfirmed)
How incredibly sad.

Anyone know why the area between Pandora (near the Starbucks) through the bridge to Africa is closed? Lots of management around, as well as OPD. Just curious!
I was there when they began to close the area, a pregnant woman passed out and they tried to resitate her but I don't think it turned out well. I could see the parademics trying repeatedly to bring her back even as they put her on the stretcher and when she passed by me she looked pale and her lips were blue. I pray she made it. It was heartbreaking to watch. The area remained closed afterwards, im assuming they were doing an investigation.

For the curious, the weather today was mild, on the cool side for this time of year, mostly cloudy with some light showers in the afternoon. Whatever happened, the weather probably played no part, it has not at all been of that opressive hot and humid kind.

Heartbreaking, these poor people.

Yeah we were there the last 8 days and it was never that kind of "Florida hot" that people think of. It rained more on that trip than I think I've ever seen and there was really only some of that crazy heat only a couple of days. That tropical depression has been messing with the weather pretty badly there it seems like.
