Are you sure were at a WDW resort ?

Question to everyone.In your opinion,what resort hotel at the world doesn't feel like a Disney resort.I've read the Contempory resort has a non Disney atmosphere,what do you think ?once again,info is for my book.:wave:

We find the Contemporary to be very Disney.

I'd say Swan/Dolphin are the least Disney.

I find the values to be very "disney" in that they are family friendly, and they are disney in attitude, I think the ones that are the most non disney are the Swan and Dolphin,but then I'm biased.

Love 'em or hate 'em, no resorts on property are more Disney than the Values.

Hard question to answer given "Disney atmosphere" could mean different things to different people.

You're right. It is a hard question to answer. The values have a more "disney" feel to it, especially the pools. CBR doesn't feel too much like "disney" as it is supposed to make you feel like you're in the Caribbean. To me, the resorts are themed to make you feel you're actually in Hawaii ( POLY) or in Key West (OKW), but there are always the "hidden mickeys" and of course the souvenir shops.

Of the resorts I've stayed at (Grand Floridian, Contemporary + Shades of Green) I would definitely say Shades of Green. The only noticeable Disney decorations are the Mickey statue in the lobby and a couple of ceramics above where you buy the tickets, unless you count what they sell in the gift shop.

Disney Atmosphere Explanation.

Ok here goes.Our first trip was a two centre vacation.First week onsite,second week offsite.So the first week we stayed at CBR and were totally Disneyfied,the second week we stayed at Wyndham Orlando on I-Drive,so we were totally undisneyfied.I agree that the Values look very Disney themed but the Swan/Dolphin looks like it could fit on I-Drive no problem.

Probably because they are owned by Tishman Hotels and operated by Starwood Hotels, not Disney.

I am going to shadow the consensus and say swan and dolphin. They just brings different element than the other resorts. More about adults and luxury.

I love the Swan and Dolphin! and i feel like its very disney looking out the window and seeing the boardwalk and EPCOT! and the boats are right there to take you to DHS and EPCOT. I was nervous at first staying there about losing the Disney feeling, but its really all there! and Fantasia mini golf is right there too!

Obviously every resort that is 'on property' has a very Disney feel to it simply based on the fact that you can see traces of Mickey and friends all over them, but obviously some resorts are much better themed than others. I guess if you come right down to it, the least Disney-like would be the value resorts because they're nothing more than a local Day's Inn or EconoLodge styles rooms and buildings with a Disney-painted veneer to them.

To me the theme is what makes them the most Disney.. and although Bay Lake Tower is wonderful and can't beat the location - the theme of it is rather "business" to me - not vacationy..

I agree with you on that statement. This type of room does not make me feel warm and fuzzy. I feel like I need to take my shoes off when I step in the room and have to eat Tofu instead of steak. :lol:
