Down and out in the Magic Kingdom is by far one of my top five desert island books...its a great read, and it'll make you think. but beware, it does have some adult scenes

I second the Disney Girls series. My daughter read them when she was about 8, and I give that series of books credit for changing her from a reluctant to avid reader.

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to thank those who suggested "Waking Walt" by Larry Pontius, I just finished reading it last night and it was a great book, I would highly recommend it.

It's not a book but there is a fictional DVD available on amazon.com called

Tower of Terror (1997)

Starring: Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst

It has the actual ToT in it and tells the story of the people who disappeared on the elevator.

:)
