Am I the only one who despises these crazy commercials found all over the TV stations at Disney/Florida? The crazy Asian guy comes on with his girl and tries to sell appliances, and the commercials are so very cheap and weird and subliminal-like. The guy talks weird, says his words very choppy-like and takes a moment between each sentence...It's crazy. You think the commercial is over, and then all of a sudden they come back on and say it over and over again....

^ I guess that's what makes them irresistible. I am not a big fan, but I get a chuckle from them.

So last trip, I wasn't feeling well one afternoon so we went back to the room to relax and watch TV for a while and that commercial came on.
My boyfriend made THE FUNNIEST jokes about it and it made me laugh hysterically and it actually made me feel better!
I love this guy now!
He's so corny...he kind of reminds me of a more amped up version of Bob from Bob's Furniture (for those of you from the CT-NY-NJ area who would know).

I am leaving tomorrow for the world and one thing I can't wait to see is the commercials. Every once in a while I will even youtube them.

Maybe I am weird, but I enjoy some of the commercials they play on local Orlando television. Commercials here in Chicago are so boring. I can remember a few years back, my wife and I getting a real kick out of a commercial for a car dealership. I think it was Honda and they would have a bull terrier sitting on the hoods of the cars. It seemed like this was every other commercial being played late at night.
I also love watching Central Florida News 13 in the morning while getting ready for the day. I love the funky little musical tune they play every 10 minutes after the weather forcast. They would say, "Now a look at Dopler Radar".....que the weird music. I love it! Reminds me that I am at Disney.

Sounds like the Crazy Eddie commercials that use to flood our airwaves here in the NJ/PA/NY area back in the mid 80s. They were on constantly and even then I figured that if someone needs this much schtick to sell something, they probably are terrible.

I love these Appliance Direct commercials, they always get a chuckle out of me. When you are back at your resort, laying in bed, waiting to use the bathroom to clean up before you sleep, it's the best thing to watch!

Weather you like these commercials or not it is hard to argue that they are quite effective. After all we are talking about appliance commercials in a Disney forum.:lol:

I've been watching the AD commercials probably since my 2003 WDW trip, but now that I'm technically a Florida resident, I see it even MORE. I don't believe I'll ever quite understand the logical intricacies involved with throwing a perfectly good chocolate cake in the dishwasher, but it's practically a part of Floridian pop culture at this point. :lol:

Yeah, the AD commercials have been on over here for a while. They sometimes very late at night have entire shows devoted to AD...

We had never seen one until our recent trip. When he saw one the first time my son fell off the bed laughing and was rolling on the floor, we had a devil of a time getting him to settle down.
I remember someone on this site had the guy’s picture as an Avatar but I did not know what it was in reference to until last week.
They are pretty “cheesy” in the same vain as Bob’s discount furniture store, Crazy Eddie’s, or Ernie Boch Sr. “Come on down” car commercials. We have been subjected to all of these in the Boston area over the years.
When I was a young man I lived in California and I remember Cal Worthington and Ralph Williams used car commercials as being especially bad as well.

Appliance Direct - I'll gladly pay too much if it means I never have to see that guy in person.

Scratch and Dent World - the lady with the tacky plaid dresses and her signature knee brace. I wish someone would scratch and dent her other knee. :lookaroun

local car dealerships using kids in their ads - your kids are not cute! Grace and Preston, I'm talking about you!

the Toyota dealership in Winter Park - the dog's name is "Mr. Unbelievable" and I think it would be unbelievable if he went to the bathroom on one of the hoods.

There is a Toyota dealership owner here in Jacksonville that constantly parades his creepy looking twins in his commercials.
