According to Mousesavers the discounts are

* Save 30% at Disney Value Resorts and Animal Kingdom Lodge
* Save 35% at Disney Moderate Resorts and Grand Floridian Resort
* Save 42% at the remaining Disney Deluxe Resorts
* Save 42% at Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts

Some blackout dates apply, and not all resorts have availability. I personally am very surprised to see AKL and GF split off from the other resorts in that manner. Usually they just wouldn't have availability if they are well booked. So maybe they are kinda booked? But not desperate enough to offer the full discounts? Kinda strange to see.

They really snuck those in there. I never even got the usual e-mail alerting me that the new discounts are out. Disney is really slipping. I did get my rooms booked for our December trip though, so I don't feel too bad. Just a little disappointed that Disney is not on the ball with letting their passholders know what is going on all the time.

I also find it interesting that the resort with the highest room price, the Grand Floridian, is not discounted as much as others. I wonder if occupancy at the GF has been up this year, or the've cut staff there so they don't need to fill the resort to stay in the black. I just hope some good rates come out for May and Dec 2011, come on bounceback or pin!

I see that the Polynesian is 42% with this new passholder offer instead of the 40% public offer. I have the public 40% off public offer for Polynesian in Jan/Feb. Maybe when the Jan/Feb passholder rates come out it will also be 42% off. That is not that much of a difference, but it's still a difference.

If your primary reason for getting an AP ( regardless of renewing or a new AP) is for the "perks" that are associated with it, I would definitely tell you not to bother. If your primary reason for getting an AP, similar to myself, is to get a year's worth of admissions into any of the theme parks (main 4 for me as I have a regular AP, not a Premium AP) then it is absolutely worth it!!! I spend about 25-30 days in Disney on any given year, so regardless of how I look at it, this is less expensive than purchasing any other type of ticket for my admissions. All of the other stuff such as room discounts, merchandise discounts, dining discounts etc are nice and I do appreciate them, but in no way is that my sole reason for purchasing the AP in the first place. A VERY good point... I would suggest that you look at the TOTAL DIFFERENTIAL (room cost, food cost, park tickets) for this time frame for an AP and a non-AP....

The differential is getting VERY thin. A 42% discount for lodging is great - until one realizes that ANYONE can get 40%. Work in the tax - in our case? We would have saved $10 for our entire eight day stay in November at the Wilderness Lodge (AP vs General Public Offer).

Sandy & I are REALLY THINKING about whether or not to renew our APs in 2011....

Well actually I allready renewed my annual pass and got the extra 3 months. So my pass is good until 10-11-2011. I also have the tables in wonderland card for 20% at most sit down dining places. I use my annual pass and table in wonderland card all threw the year (or 15 month for annual pass this year).

So I always book room only offers as they are the best deals for me. The public offer I booked for my Jan/Feb vacation was the room only offer for 40% off Polynesian. So if the passholder room only offer for Polynesian for Jan/Feb is 42% I would for sure save some money.

Yes my main reason for getting the annual pass is because it saves me the most money for all the times that I go to the parks than any other ticket offer. I get the standard annual pass and not the one that is good for the water parks and so on. Also I like be able to go kinda all threw the year.

The annual pass does save me money on hotels. Now since I am a Florida resident the annual pass does not always save me as much extra money as those who are not Florida resident. What I mean is since I would get the Florida resident rate anyway I compare the difference between the passholder rate and Florida resident rate. Then with the public offer rate at 40% off for my birthday vacation at the Poly I will compare the difference from that rate to the difference to the passholder rate that I might get at the Poly for my birthday vacation. Now even when compared to these other rates that I can allready get I still sometimes can save a lot of money with my annual pass.

Hi all, Please dont misunderstand me, if there is a discounted offer for a resort stay that you are eligible for, by all means go for it!!!! However if you are purchasing an AP, the main reason should be savings on admission media. Also keep in mind that lately General Public rates have been coming out way in advance of AP rates, so if you arent a frequent visitor, that may be a better option for you. It will allow you to plan your trips further out. Room only rates have been also pretty good for the General Public as well, so the old school of thought of purchasing an AP to get a room discount has changed. Marie

We're planning to get APs for our trip in June 2011 and if an AP discount is out and we can apply it then great, if not, then oh well, it's not what we're getting them for. Our reason for getting them is because we plan to hit the parks for at least 7 days in June, possibly 8 and then I plan on doing the 1/2 marathon on Marathon Weekend in January which means another trip not 6 months later and we'd need another 8 or 9 day pass. That would total 16+ days in park tickets. I worked out the cost in tickets alone and the AP was cheaper. If it gets us hotel discounts that to us is just icing on the cake!

Exactly!!! Also be sure to keep an eye out for General Public Discounts as well just in case. AP Discounts are great as you can also add the Dining plans to them, room only reservations can't. Also there is the option of purchasing the Tables In Wonderland card for discounts on your sit down dining as well. A lot of different options are available for us to choose from though!!! Marie
