So here we are 2 months after the last post when there was much anticipation for D23.

4 months to film release we know that a new Star Wars land is coming but no timeline and the Launch Bay will be completed this year in DHS. The Star Wars wagon is now in town, please tell me there will be something special at the first showing of the Force Awakens in DTD, please make my 9 hr flight bearable! And the kids ( big and little ones) day by there being Storm Troopers around!

There is no opening date for The Launch Pad because, like the Frozen Summer Fun, it's a hastily thrown together offering and will open as soon as it's ready. I imagine we'll find out more info as it gets closer to opening, but I know they were shooting for it to be open as early as possible before the opening of TFA (like October/November).

As for the movie itself, I want to hear those details too. Heck, I'd just like to know when tickets will go on sale.

For the 3D release of Ep 1, they had a few 501st guys out there. I'm sure they'll be out in force (pun intended) when TFA opens. Hopefully there will be some giveaways as well (they gave away 3D glasses for the Ep 1 3D premiere).

While I'm not 100% sure yet I have been told another large movie theatre in the area has most of the 501st already wrapped up. Disney will have to bring their own storm troopers this time.

Well, if by special you mean seeing it with an audience of hardcore Star Wars geeks? Then yes.

Seeing a Disney/Disney related film at DTD on opening night with a hardcore audience is pretty indescribable. Some may dress up. But there's a vibe and an electricity in the crowd that just doesnt happen in suburban middle america.

I keep hearing a date in mid to late September for tickets to go on sale.

From the Hollywood Reporter:
Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Set to Take Over Imax for a Month
For Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Imax is going big — really big. For the first four weeks of its run, set to begin Dec. 18, J.J. Abrams' sequel will have all of Imax's large-format screens in North America and most of its foreign screens to itself.

Well, that's disappointing. I obviously assumed there would be an upcharge on the average movie ticket, but that's kinda absurd. Even the most expensive ticket for ETX 3D at evening is $16.50, so you're essentially spending $83.49 to be in Hollywood Studios from around 10 pm to 2 am and ride only Star Tours, explore Launch Bay, watch Fireworks, and buy merch.

Yes, yes there is.

We plan on decorating an evergreen tree to usher in Winter and show love to our families as well as peace on earth and goodwill towards men.

We will also buy presents for our loved ones and pretend they are delivered by a fat man who drives a sleigh thats pulled by flying reindeer.

The nigh before, people of many religions will attend services to mark the occasion.
