Seeing a Disney/Disney related film at DTD on opening night with a hardcore audience is pretty indescribable. Some may dress up. But there's a vibe and an electricity in the crowd that just doesnt happen in suburban middle america.

It would be amazing to see it at Disney Springs. I so wish I could be there Christmas day.

I imagine you will be able to ride other rides too. I think they were just highlighting the SW-related attractions.

Have you heard of the multi-quite tool? Quite useful and something you might want to use in the future.

But no, the FAQ clearly states that's it's just Launch Bay, Star Tours, and Fireworks with a DJ. There is also some food and merchandise, but no other rides or attractions are open. Incredibly steep price for having access to so little for such a small amount of time.

I would expect they'll have something of a specially cultivated atmosphere for the event, things they wouldn't necessarily advertise like having First Order stormtroopers everywhere, Star Wars characters riding Star Tours with you, Star Wars score being played as BGM on Hollywood Boulevard, etc.

It's from the darkest chapter in the Star Wars universe. Something so foul, that most fans refuse to acknowledge it's existence. The dreaded Holiday Special. :banghead:

I totally get why some may not find the value, and fully understand why some may feel it's a rip-off - personally, though, I would be going for it if I were down there. Kind of a once in a lifetime event thing - it basically sounds like the ST2 Launch Party, and I had a good enough time there that I would have paid for it.

And although the dollar value is going to vary based on circumstances, it includes free parking at the Studios ($20) and the movie ticket, so basically it can be looked at as $65ish bucks for 4 hours in the park with the festivities plus access to Star Tours (which I'm betting will be introducing newer content as has been speculated, so it's not odd to want to ride it 5 or 6 times to see them all).

Totally see why it may not appeal to all, again - but Disney could have easily charged double for this and still likely sold out, and it actually is a time-sensitive event (unlike 3 or 4 "parties" a week with other upcharges) so I gotta say, it's not as terrible and ridiculous as some of the other things they have come up with.

Yes, I feel like a doofus for "defending" it - but really, it's not as bad as I would have suspected.

I agree completely and was 100% ready to buy in at around $65-75. $100 is absolutely absurd for the limited amount of offerings for this event.

There is no way I'm paying $400 for our family of four.

It reminds me of the disgusting $50 charge they tried to pull off for Force Friday, only to reverse course when people didn't buy tix.
