So now the Star Wars weekends are over and there's only 20+ weeks to the release of the Force Awakens, there is talk of the characters from 'inside out' appearing Downtown and in Epcot surely they will do the same and not miss this opportunity on the 18th December??

Or just wishful thinking of fans!!

I think BB-8 (soccer ball droid from trailer) will be a big merchandise item in the parks And most likely several variations of Duffy (which I would love as my nephew collects Duffies and I could score some major bonus points)

A jolly man in a Red Suit will be at Downtown Disney as well as MK & Epcot doing meets until the 25th.

His ship will be powered not by a hyperdrive but by eight tiny reindeer.

You keep asking, the joke keeps going....

Its Christmas!

There's no way on God's Green Earth they're going to anger the entire Candlelight Processional going audience for that.

Or did the entire thread forget the movie comes out on Christmas?

I think they'll leave Epcot alone, but the Studios will have an upcharge screening party probably - midnight screening, character photo-ops, and cupcakes. $199 per person.

This is part of the reason why I'd rather have the movie released in May rather than December. Too much other stuff going on when really it should really should just be about getting a new Star Wars movie. May is an established time for it, with nothing else getting in the way. With December, people have the various holidays and such.

Even with it being Christmas, I bet it'll do just fine...

Yeah, I don't think folks realize how many folks celebrate the holidays with family movie outings, either. Remember, the LOTR/Hobbit films have always come out at that time. Christmas Day itself is actually a pretty big movie day - theaters are open. And how many more are going to do so even if they don't normally just for this film. It will be a very popular family outing. Plus the kids are out of school, etc. I really don't think it's a liability at all. No matter where you travel, there are theaters.

I'd also give up my family for Star Wars

I don't know if you were joking or not, but that's actually the current plan. Expect Captain EO to return for a very limited amount of time. Then, welcome Star Wars. That's IF the current plan goes through.

You are saying Epcot is going to get Star Wars content?

"Kylo Ren's: Do You Want To Build Kill A Snowman - Winter Kickoff & Sing-Along" is scheduled to take place daily on the DHS stage. Other than that, nothing else has officially been announced.

How about the Star Wars Holiday Special Stage Show? Think of the possibilities! A half-hour wookie family extravaganza featuring toy assembly instructional videos and wookie grampa pron.

(I'm pretty sure they paid Carrie in all-you-can-snort cocaine for her cameo)
That was television brilliance. I would find it very insulting to that masterpiece (not to mention rather sac-religious toward Life Day & those who observe it) if they were to turn that legendary performance into simple theme park entertainment.

That was the original plan, then Abrams thought he'd need more time. Since reshoots are happening now, it's probably a good thing it was delayed until Christmas.

The Christmas release is also much better for moichendising, which is much more important to SW than any other film.
