Anyone heard anything from Jim MacPhee since he became the VP of Epcot?
I can't even get a decent hit on his name in Google.

from interviews? Perhaps. However, if I were him, I would make myself very visible in the parks--that is, I would grab a broom and dustpan, go out into the park wearing my suit and name badge, clean things up and speak with guests and Cast Members. If I were him, I would keep a bit of a low profile for awhile. With all of the excitement with Disney execs being liberally bashed, I might wait until something great happens to thrust myself into the spotlight.

That's exactly what he should be doing!
yes...expecting someone to get a broom and dustpan is truly expecting too much...lol. I wouldn't want him to break a sweat working in his theme park in central Florida. You folks need to stop expecting too much from other people.

I agree with you. LEAD BY EXAMPLE.
I cant think of any better way to show not only Epcot CMS but Ecpot guests that as a VP he is approachable.
Coming from the military, any good General realizes that to truly understand whats going on in the battlefield you have to get your boots muddy from time to time.
Rallying the CMS at Epcot is not only the right thing to do its the smart thing to do.Epcot doing well highly depends on CMS working the front lines. If you show them your willing to roll up your sleeves once and a while you will get loyal people. If you mandate policy from your office all the time see how the turnover will be.
hahaha...you really have no idea what you are talking about. The best theme park execs can be found in their parks with a broom and dustpan, speaking with guests and employees. The former president of the Disneyland Resort, Matt Ouimet, did this (before leaving for an undoubtedly higher paying job in charge of 850 hotels at Starwood Resorts), and at a local theme park up here, Lake Compounce, I saw the park manager out in the park, with broom and dustpan, speaking with guests both this past Saturday and Monday. It increases employee morale and guest happiness to see managers who are not too self-important to stop by their parks every once in awhile.Do you honestly, during the ever so persistent ramblings that occur here, stop to think about what you are saying? Do you see the executives of any company spending more than a publicity driven moment cleaning up their facilities.
As a cast member, I am more comfortable taking care of the property, so they can make sure the place is here tomorrow, so I still have a job.
It is along the lines of the official ground breakings every so often...do you really believe the 6 men in suits with the golden plated shovels will physically construct the new attraction that follows those shovel tips of fill they remove?
Cut the guy some slack, he obviously has done something right if the LARGEST RESORT IN THE WORLD has decided he should provide the leadership at a flagship park.
