Donno, Coz they left the thing on Spaceship earth up...But since it's blocking TGMR they might. I geuss we wont kno untill 100yom is over

That's why I'm wondering. I have watched them put both the wand and the hat up and the wand looked like it was going to be temporary (personally, although it looks nice in pictures, I think it looks really tacky up close) The hat on the other hand, looks like it could withstand a meteor shower which leads me to believe it isn't going anywhere for quite a while...

Everbody thought the Mickey Wand would go away after the Millennium Celebration but it ended not leaving at all. Since there is a shop going to be located under the hat, it would have to get a lot of complaints to get Disney to get rid of a shop, no matter how small.

Well, unfortunately I'm not allowed to wander too far from my desk in case work does arrive so it's either this or I go back to reading world new online....

With the amount of work that went into putting it there, I don't see them moving it anywere...

This has been discussed in depth a few times on this board. The hat is staying. They had to pour a ton of concrete just to support the hat. The Great movie ride and the theater are probably gonna go, because they are getting rid of the MGM license. Therefore, the hat will be centrally located in the park and will become the new icon. It will not move, and it's location will take away from the chinese theater disappearing.

If WDW got enough complaints from loyal guests maby they would remove it! Then again maby they would just come up with an excuse not to move it.:(

Sorry, but it's not gonna happen. It' is the new icon for the park. With disney dropping MGM the GMR is gonna be in for a revamping if not total removal. They want something guests can look at as they are coming down hollywood blvd.

In other words, its' not moving, so i'd learn to live with it. The hidden mickey won't come back even if they do remove it because they've changed the color patterns in the concrete around that hat.
