i swear i remember this but you're the first person that agrees with me that this actually happened. everyone says that it has been an AA from the start.

Who remembers the year MGM opened, when there was NOTHING to do there!
Who remembers when a week was enough time to see the World?
Who remembers laughing at how the stamp of which park you started out at each day never seemed to land on the correct line?
Who remembers when handstamps meant something?
Who remembers Dixie Landings?
Who remembers those buses with the grainy windows you could barely see through?
Who remembers the first time they saw the Tower of Terror? Who remembers when Early Entry Days were a full NINETY minutes before the parks opened?
Who remembers when Animal Kingdom opened at 7 am and closed at 7 pm? Who remembers seeing Animal Kingdom at sunrise, the most beautiful time of day there?
Who remembers SPLASHTACULAR?
Who remembers the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at MGM? Who remembers The Monster Sound Show?
Who remembers Spaceship Earth when it was narrated by Walter Cronkite and still played "Tomorrow's Child"?
Who remembers the WEDway PeopleMover?

Wow. I remember more stuff than I thought!

Nope....I remember. She was not an Animatronic from Day 1! VERY early in the park history, she was real.

Kyle, I remember all of those things, and probably should remember even more. ;) However, many of the changes have been for the better. I remember how excited I was when CBR opened....finally an on-site resort that didn't cost a week's pay per night!

The menus have also been expanded to accomodate a wider dietary range....the days of vegetarians being forced to bring their own food (unless they were eating at a full service restaurant with a chef willing to make something special) are long gone.

It's easier to find healthy alternatives, including fresh fruit...even if it is pretty pricey.

Many changes were for the better; many were for the worse....but change is inevitable. Yes, there are lots of things I miss....and probably a lot of bad things I've forgotten about.

However, I see nothing wrong with taking a walk down memory lane now and then...it's rather enjoyable. I just try not to let my stroll spoil my pleasure in the present. ;)

oh, I think the Resort is FAR better now than it was back then, just remembering some of those little nostalgic things that were purely disney. I find it funny that printing faces on tickets is a long-gone concept at Disney, but Six Flags thinks it's a big deal getting your picture on your season passes! ("new" technology)

Upon reading the thread from someone who hasn't been in 15 years, I began thinking about some of the neat things I have seen at WDW over the years:
1. Remember the turnstiles for the 15th anniversary and if it went off when you went through you won a prize?
2. Remember the song from the 3:00 parade/ 15th anniversary
3. Remember the song from the 3:00 parade/ 10th anniversary
4. Remember Mickey's Birthdayland?
5. Remember the Golf Resort?
6. Remember the original Disney village shops?
7. Remember ticket packages? COP was free as was If You Had Wings
8. Frozen bananas?
9. Remember having to get your ticket stamped?
10. having your picture on your ticket?
11. The gorgeous blond haired guy in Hoop De Doo?
12. when the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Golf Resort were the only on site hotels?
13. Having to call a year in advance to make a reservation for one of the above? and it might have taken a week just to get through on the phone?
14. And remember that extra special feeling you got turning off of U.S 192 heading towards one of these resorts? And that other feeling you got knowing the other 20,000 people had to stay off property?

Debbie on number 7, when you say ticket packages what do you mean by it? Are you refering to the old ticket books where you had your admission ticket and an assortment of A B C D and E Tickets??
