Hi. I really wanted to make it to Disney this summer (August), but we won't be able to make it for many different reasons...
1. Money
2. We're expecting and I don't want to go to Disney pregnant.

I know I'm going to be so jealous watching friends (on social media) going to Disney with their families this summer, but also living vicariously through them, because I truly enjoy seeing all the pictures friends post from vacations... Especially Disney!
With that being said, we are planning on going next August and it's driving me crazy! I have the itch now (and we just went this past February)... Anyone else on the same boat as I am? What are you doing to literally pass this time?? I looked at the thread that asks "How many days for you" and I refuse to count the days because I will just cry!! Lol
Plus, I keep pricing out what our trip MAY cost us next year on various websites... The addiction is real! Ha

Please tell me I'm not the only one...

I'm in the same boat. This good news is we'll have Avatarland to look forward to!

Lately I've been really getting the itch badly however and 2017 does seem far off.

We're skipping 2017, if not longer. Maybe we'll be back when most of the large scale construction is completed, but one thing is for sure we'll not be back next year. I'm a little soured on how Disney has cut back on things and raised the prices. The wife and I are thinking, that a change in venue is probably in the cards.

I'm not going until 2017. There are too many things closed to justify the cost.

But I am constantly pricing out a trip so if the stars align and we win the lottery, I could go this year and know exactly what I would spend.

I like your lottery winning optimism!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!! We were to go to Disney in December 2017 for my 50th birthday celebration, BUT had to postpone it until December 2018! But all is good once you get over the disappointment of knowing that you won't be going when you planned!

I said ..... we arent going until the construction and new projects have been finished. I said that.... but I just know I'm fooling myself. That Disney bug just wont stay away. I'm sure I'll be telling DW.... Hey, how about we start thinking about going. Then thinking about it will turn into strongly considering it, then that will lead to checking into it and before you know it.... I'll be running the figures and putting down the initial payment.

We are not going until August of 2017 for the same reasons as OP. Money and we are having another child. We were just there in February and I cannot wait to go back. I am not happy with all of the cutbacks and changes that Disney is making these days either. But I cannot not go. As a family we have such a great time together in Disney. My kids love it and I love seeing them so excited and happy.

I'm actually planning a trip to go in June 2017. Hoping that my wife and I get pregnant soon so there is plenty of time with the baby before going (and grandparents would love to babysit) but also don't want to go to Disney with her pretty pregnant also. I've actually been secretly saving since January of last year and have saved more money than I ever thought was possible for me to save! lol

My wife and I are aiming for a 2017 trip after having done our honeymoon in November 2015. She's a teacher so that somewhat limits when we can go. Aside from mid-June to mid-August she only has 8 personal days (no spring break as it is an online school). She's talked about using most of those on a Disney trip so we can go during a less crowded time of year but if that doesn't work, we will have to go during the summer.

Definitely going mid-August will help with the crowds. Florida schools start mid-August and the crowds go down significantly.

we are hoping to go over Christmas in 2017. was just there in Oct. & loved it. But as well some unfortunate changes will not allow us to go this year, plus we have to upgrade to a suite due to the age of the kids, & higher prices, with all 3 kids costing now. We been there every year since 2010 & yes i think i might have to take a few days off work because of the WDW Flu lol. So yeah your not the only one many in the same shoes. Congrats congrats !!!!!! constant reading the forum, planning sites, even watching planning video's yes i admit it lol. But we drive & love watching all the post's of people who drive. Withdrawel ahhhhh:banghead::banghead::arghh::bawling::hungover::jawdrop::joyfull:

Just remember that going in mid August youll be dealing with the oppressive heat and high humidity so prepare yourselves for some sticky conditions. Youre also in tropical season so watch for those drenching rain storms that roll in quickly at various times of the day.

We just did last May (2015) with a 3 yo and a 11 month old. When we got home my wife said "we're not going back for at least 4 years." Plan on 2019.

Then suddenly about 2 months ago she starts planning our next trip without even consulting me. Such a wonderful surprise.

Anyway, more to the point, we will be there Feb 5-11 in 2017. Only 307 more days.
