Anyone else going to miss Tarzan Rocks!

Count me in as one of the people who did not care for this show.

Loved the music, but really didn't get excited over the show.

The music was OK but the show was not all that... It wasn't the worst thing in Disney by any means... Just wasn't something I felt I had to do after seeing it once.... But, I still cannot see a Nemo musical... I'll give it a chance though...

Cindyrella, you will find that when you Mention Tarzan Rocks on here people come out of the woodwork to insult the show.:

You called :drevil:

1. It show was rubbish
2. Phil Collins is rubbish (go back to Genesis Phil)
3. The band were a poor pub band
4. How many times can you watch roller blading monkesy and be amused?
5. The whole show lacked soul or some umph.
6. It wasnt Hunchback.

We leave today for our trip and we are REALLY going to miss it.

We loved the liveliness of the show and the skaters were awesome. I hope the Nemo show lives up to the high marks this one set for us.

Still we have Festival of the Lion King to look forward to. :)

I liked the show, it had alot of energy, plus I was a fan of the movie, however after seeing it twice I never felt the need to see it again. I guess it's a show that doesn't warrant repeat visits amongst most vistors.

PS: Tarzan Rocks is a MUCH better than the current musical on Broadway. Not sure what that says for either show.

Let me just say that I thought the Jungle Book show was wonderful, and still miss that. Neither my wife nor I thought much of Tarzan Rocks. The music was fine, but the show itself just wasn't very interesting or compelling. I do like the animated feature, though.

Nopers! I saw it once and slept through most of it. I guess shows just aren't my thing because I also slept through Festival of the Lion King. However, I do look forward to seeing the new, original Nemo musical in the new theater.

3 & 4 would depend on who was in the cast

I can't argue with number 6. That should have stayed and either B&B or Ariel ditched.

I am in love with the Tarzan music...I hope the Broadway show is good, because I just bought the CD and thought it was pretty decent :animwink:

As my best friend Kate put it: My dreams of becoming a roller-blading monkey have gone up in smoke.

We loved the show - my friend Jill was one of the narrators and, in my opinion, if you got good narrators, you enjoyed the show.

BTW, some of you are nasty and petty. It's a forum for opinions, not to shoot other people down. If you're that bitter, go write an editorial to your local newspaper...then people can throw that section away.

its about time someone started a thread about it!!!!
i really do miss it.
when im listening to the music i can always picture what sequence goes with which and get a tear in my eyes  . still cant believe its gone.
during my last holiday i saw it 7 or more times during 3 weeks. i loved that show.
it was like something i had never seen before and each time i saw it i appreciated it more.
i have no one to talk to about it like my friends or family they where either not interested or thought it was just another show  .
i dont think nemo will hold a candle to it (at least not in my eyes) but im prepared to give it a go!!!!!

i always have to music playing in my room.

still cant believe they closed it!!!!
it will always be one if my fave shows!!!!!!!

I cant say I will miss it at all, I am not a huge show fan anyway. I guess it all might depends on how good the Nemo show is gonna be for most. From hearing that practice song from one of the other threads my hopes for the Nemo show are not real high. The Tarzan show was not good enough, in my opinion, to miss. Even if the Nemo show stinks.

I know I'm going to sound like an old man (and maybe I am old, just turned 40), but here goes anyway. . .

I loved the visual aspect of the show -- the acrobats, the roller blading. I was completely unimpressed with the music of the show. Partly b/c I didn't think the singing was very good, but mostly because it was so freakin' loud!!! It was so loud that I could barely stand it, let alone enjoy it. My father had to leave b/c it was too loud for him to tolerate.

Turn the volume down by about 2/3 and I would've loved it and mourned it. But as it was, I'm not too sad.

Not going to miss that one. I didn't think it was written well,..I think it needed a "plot"...it was missing a "bad guy" or an antagnist or something.

I saw it once and never bothered to see it again.

I really REALLY miss the Hunchback of Notre Dame show at MGM. I always watched that show whenever I went and I enjoyed it every single time.

I even like "Matt???" the juggling opening act. I knew EVERY word of his routine and every joke/punchline,..but I still loved watching him anyway.

I never saw that show, and I'm really disappointed about that. I did, however, get to meet one of the guys who played Quasi. He was a guest speaker on the Disney Magic. He said that the character was still special to him b/c Quasi is the only disabled hero. He said that kids in wheelchairs and kids with various disabilities would flock to him after the show and just thank him for doing it. It was very touching.

If there's video of the Hunchback show anywhere online, could I get a link? Thanks.
