No
I have used, Uber, Minnie Vans (using Lyft Technology), and regular Lyft vehicles. I have never had any issues. Minnie Vans seem to be able to drop you off at better places for the parks though....For a premium, of course. lol

We used Lyft (regular Lyft, not Minnie vans) 3 different times this week. It's great. Our rides were 8-10 bucks depending on destination. We felt our time and money were worth using Lyft. It took an hour and half by bus to commute from Boardwalk to Blizzard Beach. We were at the bus stop at 9:03 and arrived at BB at 10:30. It made for a long morning getting to the waterparks. We also used it from Beach Club to Poly for breakfast one morning. It was worth letting the kids sleep at least another hour before going to breakfast. To us time is money, but your mileage may vary. All in all, Lyft was great.

Yep, just don’t use Magic Kingdom as your location. Use TTC, leaned the hard way. It was my Uber drivers first fare and he was hearing impaired. Disney Security got involved and I had to explain because between the language barrier, first fare and hearing impairment it was a MESS😂😂😂
The next rides were perfect :)

Better yet, use the Contemporary as your location/destination for MK. That's what I did. No problems at all. And it appears that many Uber drivers around WDW are current/former CMs.

Great to use at park closings since bus transport is very unreliable as to time. This is one thing that WDW Transport has never figured out, i.e. there are many more people departing at closing than at opening so there should be many more busses on line.

Are they readily available? And where are they allowed to pick you up & drop you off at?

At the parks - it will be near where the taxis are. So TTC for MK, and in the parking lots for DS and the parks. Pickup and drop-offs will be same place.
At the hotels - they will take you door to door

If you drove to Disney World and are parked at your hotel..for us it's the Dolphin, is it better to drive yourself everywhere or to take Uber? I am thinking about parking etc...not knowing if we have to pay to park using our own car etc.

We use them so much, starting at the airport. Take them to Uni, Costco, Walmart, DW all over. If the bus is taking too long in the am - get an Uber. Too little time to make it to our dining res. - Uber. Don't feel like waiting in the bus line at night - Uber. Too long to get to Disney Springs - Uber. Back to the airport - Uber. The more we used it, the more we liked it and used it more. It feels like............. freedom.

How does it work in the evening after fireworks? For example at MK, would I have to take a monorail to TTC before requesting Uber to my resort?

May I ask what people tipped Uber/Lyft for transportation on WDW property?

TIA
Usually a couple bucks a ride. Except one ride - the same guy that picked us up 3 weeks prior also came to get us from Uni, took us to Costco, Walmart, and to our DW resort. This guy was everywhere! These were all on different days. He was our driver like 40% of our rides - so nice, gave us tips about Orlando, played Disney music for us, loaded and unloaded everything. He ended up picking us up to take us to the airport at the end of our trip (xmas eve), we couldn't believe it. My son put in a $10 tip into the app, and I handed him a $20 and said , "Merry Christmas!". He felt like an old friend by then.

I was planning on getting a rental car. Now, I'm thinking that maybe I could utilize Uber instead.
I guess it depends on whether you enjoy driving or not. The cost of parking at your resort (on site) per night plus the cost of the rental might be close to what you are spending on Uber rides. I enjoy not having to drive, or walking to and from a parking lot looking for my car, or getting into a hot car, etc. Even if the cost is higher, it's worth it to me for convenience.
