Any word on Fall Deals (4:3 deal extension maybe!?)

Does anyone have any information on if Disney is planning a Fall deal similar to its current deals? Also, when could we expect such deals to go live if they do happen?

Funny you guys should be talking about this, as this very topic caused me great stress couple of months ago. I actually PM'd JP about it, and his "official" answer was that it is 1 ticket per upgrade. If anyone was able to apply more than 1 ticket to an upgrade, the CM made an exception for them and could actually be "in trouble" for doing so. We have AP's that are expiring in May, and already have 1 day base tickets to apply to the renewal from our trip last December (Disney Visa free dining offer). So when the buy 4, get 3 deal came out, I really didn't want to buy another set of 1 day base tickets for our April trip. For 2 adults and 2 kids, it adds up. So I asked JP if I could apply both 1 day tickets to our AP renewals, and he said no. So I ended up not booking the buy 4, get 3 free deal because I didn't want another stash of 1 day base tickets lying around.

Well if this is the case (that you cannot apply more than one unused ticket to an AP purchase) then they should stop making us buy one day tickets with the 4/3 deal. Why not just give the option to AP holders to not purchase any park tickets at all if we do not need them?

So far I have one 1 day ticket to apply to my AP renewal and I am hoping for another 4/3 deal later in the year. That would give me two one day tickets to use later towards my AP.

Here is the kicker:

If I am reading this all correctly, I could apply a 2 day ticket towards my AP renewal but not 2 one day tickets. That makes no sense!

Would you expect them to give you change or a refund if the cost of your multiple 1-day tickets was greater than the cost of an AP? Since tickets are non-refundable, I doubt that would ever happen.

I agree with you. As an AP holder, it is frustrating that the best "deals" are all on packages, which require a ticket purchase. (Free dining, buy 4 get 3 free, Disney Visa free dining last fall, etc) So the AP holder can do the 'ole one day base ticket trick, but if you go more than once a year (as most passholders do), having more than one, one day base ticket is a waste. Unless, as Disneyfalcon said, you hold on to them for the next year's renewal. Or find a nice CM who will let you put multiple tickets towards your next AP renewal! I just hate the idea of buying tickets I don't need. One day base tickets cost our family of 4 upwards of $300, which is $300 I'd rather have back in my pocket. So, it's AP room only rate for us.

Because the ticket prices alone are higher than the cost of an AP. If we go for 7 nights in April, then 8 or 9 nights in December, the cost of those 2 tickets is more than an AP. (We do add the park hopper option) Believe me, I did the math.

Sorry for the thread hijack!

Precisely. So you are getting your savings on the tickets across your multiple trips, as is proper for an AP holder - that is what an AP is meant to do. You also have the option of saving 20% on food and drink with the Tables In Wonderland card.

But you want those savings AND the savings that the promotional package buyers get too?

Do the math and make a decision, as I don't think Disney will ever let you have both sets of discounts.

No I would not expect a refund. I am just saying that if they accept a 2 day ticket towards the value of another more expensive ticket (AP or otherwise) then they should also accept 2 one day tickets.

I am looking at late October - early November, for my birthday which is 10/29. Of course I am an AP holder so I am NOT looking for park tickets just a resort. Preferably Poly or Contemporary.

Thanks.

So, I'm starting my trip 8/14 and staying til 8/24 - got a 10 for 7 deal. If on 8/16 they offer free dining, does that mean I have to choose between which deal I want? Free dining for a fam of 4 saves more than the 3 free nights, right? I guess I could stay outside the parks and go to Sea World for 2 days, then do Disney.

Or would they let me combine the 2 offers?

I'm also waiting to hear for fall - specifically late august or the second week in September. Crossing fingers for free dining, but 4/3 would be good as well.

A question on the 4/3 package though, kinda relating to this. If we go between 8/15 and 8/22, would we still be eligible for this deal, since our vacation started during the timeframe?

They won't let you combine the two offers. With a party of 4 staying for 10 days, free dining is probably better, but that would depend on which resort you're staying at. If your trip starts before free dining starts (IF free dining starts:)) you would have to separate your trip into two reservations to get the free dining. For instance, if it started on August 15 and you arrived on the 14, you would have one reservation for August 14, and then the 15-24 you could get free dining.:)

Package specials usually have to start by the last day of the special. There have been some difficulties booking this package when the vacation starts on the 15th, but I might be able to help. Shoot me an email if you'd like.:)

Looks like now they're saying all dates of the stay have to be on the 15th or before. Here's an instant chat I had with a CM just a couple of days ago:

Welcome to Disney! My name is Carlton. How may I help you today?
you: The buy 4, get 3 nights free ends on 8/15. If 8/15 is my first night, does the offer extend until 8/22? Thanks.
Carlton: Hello! I'll be glad to point you in the right direction! All dates would have to be within the promotional dates.

We are staying at the Poly Nov 14th - 21st. Do you know of any good discounts for those dates? Thank you:wave:

When we were in WDW last Sept they had a bounce-back promo for this fall where if you booked a Value Resort you got a free Counter Service Meal Plan. If you booked a Moderate or Deluxe Resort you got the Free Standard Dining Plan. We booked in to the Ft. Wilderness Villas and gota Free Standard Dining Plan. I really can't see how they can beat that. However if they are doing the Buy 4 get 3 Free though peak season, who knows what they might offer for the slow season. 4 for 3 WITH Free Dining? (yeah dream on..:p ) Maybe Free Dining with a gift cerfificate? We'll have to wait and see.

Kevin and Mona
Maybe Mickey will pay your mortgage too, if they get desperate enough.

Free dining saves you more than 3 free nights IF you would have bought the dining plan anyway. That's especially true if your kids are 10 or older, and if you're staying at a value resort.

If you don't value the dining plan at anything close to its regular cost, then 3 free nights is a better deal, especially if you're staying at a deluxe.

We are doing bounceback with 40% off in Sept- I am assuming that if free dining comes around, we won't be able to get both, if I am understanding what I am reading. We have deluxe dining plan, so even if we got free dining we would end up upgrading. If they open up free dining can we get a cost comparison when we call, 40% off vs free dining? we are 4 full plans, 2 children, staying in a two BR villa (BLT).

Does anybody know if Jersey Week is generally blacked out for discounts, promos (other than AAA)?

I was thinking about getting a Disney Visa in hopes of a free dining offer, but I did notice that it was blacked out for Jersey Week last year.

TIA!
