Are there any more test run videos? Does anyone know when this will happen?

I've heard they've started testing it again after they fixed the problems and it can be seen at night doing test runs. Monorail Blue should be coming to the park in the near future.

In short -

Disney officials said that the new monorail has been cycling around the beamway under its own power and that sending the futuristic bullet-nosed train back to the Vancouver, Canada, assembly plant was “never considered.”

After the test-and-adjust phase, Monorail Red will undergo state inspections, and Disney employees will be trained in the operation of the five-car burgundy train before visitors get their first ride.

They've been testing the Red train for the past two days now, with lots of CM's waving from the windows of the train on test trips tonight.

The OC Register on Tuesday is now saying that the Mark VII red train will begin passenger service for regular day visitors this Friday. The new blue train is rumored to be up and running a few weeks from now, and the new orange train is supposed to be here in use by late June.

I saw the red train go through Downtown Disney late this afternoon, and it looks even better in person than in the recent pics. Very sleek, slightly retro, but very crisp and sharp in the golden California sunlight. But I'm not a fan of the color red in general, so I am waiting for the premiere of the blue train the most!

The OC Register is now saying that the new monorail will not open to guests this Friday and the opening has been pushed back for additional testing. No date has been set for the opening yet.

There is a new article from the OC Register regarding the newer monorails. It says testing is still going on and there is no confirmed opening date yet so they can still work on things like the air conditioner:

Here are some interesting facts from the article:

The Monorail Red’s biggest change is in looks: The first electric cars have blue glass and red stripes that change color in the sunlight. The next two cars will be blue with purple glass and orange with blue glass.

Bench seats will face the windows, allowing visitors a full view of the parks, Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Hotel. The capacity and speed will remain the same.

We were at DL May 15-19. I saw red on the 16th & the 19th & they were announcing at the monorail station that it was still testing and to come back later in the year to ride. Very noncommital!

We were there on the 21at, Monorail Red was still undergoing testing, and for a while the Year of a Million Dreams one was having problems with it's doors and was down too

looked great today in person, too bad it was still not ready for the public before i left back for Florida.
