Disneyland Monorails still in operation after Walt Disney World accident
The Disneyland Resort Monorails returned to operation Sunday, following an accident in which two Walt Disney World Monorails in Florida collided early Sunday morning, killing Austin Wuennenberg, the 21 year-old pilot of one monorail, and injuring a second pilot. Mark Goldhaber has much more information about the Florida accident in today's Walt Disney World Resort Update (

MousePlanet readers reported that the Disneyland Monorails were not operating when the park opened Sunday morning, and subsequent reports indicated that the Monorails had reopened. MousePlanet contacted Disneyland Resort spokesperson Suzi Brown, who issued a statement that said "This morning, we inspected the Disneyland Resort Monorail and conducted the necessary safety checks. Everything was working properly; therefore, we have made the decision to continue to operate the Disneyland Resort Monorail."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Austin Wuennenberg and his family, girlfriend, friends and co-workers.
