Some new interesting info. As always get a salt shaker out and shake it :D

Disneyland has two brand-new Mk VII Monorails running around the track, Red during park hours and Blue after hours, furiously trying to work out the final kinks. Alas, the fixes have been endless:

A chassis so bulky that it crashed into the beamway.
A steering system with a flawed design.
Windows that began falling out due to glue failure, requiring a bolted redesign.
Problematic safety sensors.
And, most uncomfortably, poor air circulation, thanks to not-fully-opening windows and air-conditioning-less cabins.

Red still testing, was at the parks yesterday (June 8,2008) and Red was still speeding around. Looks great, I just really hope they open soon!

Its really weird seeing 2 different Mark monorails speeding around!

Monorail Red will open to the public tonight

Disney’s Monorail Red (or Mark VII) will open to the public this evening as part of a “soft opening.”

Disney Spokeswoman Betsy Sanchez said this afternoon that the new monorail train will be open on and off again throughout the weekend.

According to many reliable sources on Visionsfantastic.com and some other websites, the Mark VII is up and running and accepting guests tonight. According to one user on Visions Fantastic, some air vents have been installed at each end of the monorail cabs to solve the air circulation problems, making the monorails much more comfortable. This seems like a fantastic sign for the Mark VII trains!

If anyone is going to DL soon just know that the Mark VII only runs when the outside temp is cool enough. So mainly in the mornings and in the evenings.
Riding at night does make for a cooler ride though with the LED lighting inside.
