Any Updates on Test Track Redo?

The TT refurb is being designed at the GM Design Center in Michigan. The security there is so high because of the advanced vehicle design, that not much information on the Disney project has been released.

Because the official Calender is notorious for being inaccurate, late, and plain wrong. This is par for the course.

Twist ditch or blocks?

Yeah but this time is more than that. This isn't being off by a few days, or missing 'the last minute change' or 'oops, we need to close for a few days' - this is a full e-ticket going offline for an extended period for what may have been a 'moving target' but was still well known.

I'm thinking Disney must be experimenting a bit with how they handle these things... that may also be tied into the 'suprise' offerings they are starting to coincide with the closure.

This is no longer just an oversight IMO.

Would be nice if they stopped lying or being so quiet about the refurb.

This makes it sound as the the very name "Test Track" is going away. And that when the attraction reopens it will no longer be known as "Test Track, Presented by General Motors" but rather a brand new name, something like "New Pavilion Name, Presented by Chevrolet". Hmm.... :lookaroun

So I know everyone is bickering about other things right now. But if I may ask. And sorry in advance for being ignorant. What are they doing with test track? Just a deep clean? Or are they actually doing a re-theme or even changing the track layout?

Retheming the entire attraction (Pre, Ride, Post), track layout will remain the same, and Chevy will now be the sole sponsor.

That makes sense but it is inaccurate. If you go look at today's hours you will see the June refurb listed for TT. So if they only show it for 30 days at a time.... why show it at all today? They would show TT being closed April 16 to April 30 right now then next month they would show May 1 to May 31, then June 1 to June 30.

And the one for Lights Motor Action goes into two months.

As well as BTMRR
The Disney World official website calendar says June 01 through July 31st.

Thanks for adding pointless spam to the thread.

I think Soarin' will go under refurb next after this is finished. It would only make sense. I'm glad they're doing Test Track before I get down there. The ride, que, everything is extremely 90's. I hope they go for something more futuristic this time.

You have problems with other individual's seemingly pointless speculation, but it's perfectly acceptable to throw out some of your own?

It seems official now!

The last rides of TT will be April 15, 2012.:(
On 4-16-12, Test Track will be down for refurb until FALL 2012. It will reopen as "Test Track Presented by Chevrolet" and be known as "Chevrolet Design Center at EPCOT". You will create "custom concept vehicles"/"SIM-CARS". It will have a post-show area w/ "special effects". THE LAND will be open until 10pm on a "trial basis". The Test Track Allstars (travel a capella group) will be performing just outside the TT pavillion area.:sohappy:

Test track closing June 1st...Not in April...

Disneyworld.com posted the dates today on the official park hours calendar. Test track is closing on June 1st. Not on the April dates everyone keeps saying. Big thunder reopens just before test track closes. See it for yourself on disneyworld.com :)
