Any tips for first time at Boardwalk Inn?

We decided on a date and are planning for a trip in February. I've been to the Caribbean Beach (usually my favorite), Beach Club, and All-star resort. This will be our first time at Boardwalk Inn. Having stayed at the Beach Club before, I know about the convenience of Epcot being right there (it's a big reason why I chose this resort!) but wondering if anyone has any recommendations or tips about staying here. Like is it worth getting a room that faces the boardwalk or will it be too loud at night? Or how about the restaurants? Which ones can I use credits from the dining plan at and is it worth it? Any good place to pick up a quick bite for breakfast?

Your thoughts are very much appreciated! :D

Hi! You certainly are right about the convenience to Epcot, as you already know. That's a big plus right there. Plus it's nice being close to HS as well.

We had a preferred DVC room last fall. While it didn't overlook the BW (it overlooked the main Luna Park Pool), I can't comment on the noise from the BW, but I don't see it being a major issue. But honestly there's so much to do in the BW area, that I'd be happy with a standard view.

I never did the dining plan, but I'm sure there are links out there that offer which ones are included.

Grab a huge delicious cupcake from the Boardwalk Bakery or try the continental breakfast from the Belle Vue Lounge which is on the Boardwalk Inn side of the hotel. It's also a great place to have a drink in the evening hours as well.

I'd also recommend Kouzzina for a great dinner. The cinnamon stewed chicken is delicious. The breakfast menu looks great, but I didn't get a chance to try it.

EDIT: I looked up Dining Plan info. Quick Service is available at Belle Vue Lounge (B), Bakery (B,L,D), Pizza Window (L,D), Leaping Horse Libations (L,D). Table Service is available at Big River Grille (L,D), Kouzzina (B,D), and ESPN (L,D). Flying Fish is Signature (2 credit Dinner).

If you are traveling with adults and want a quiet moment, I suggest evening drinks at the Belle Vue Lounge. It's quaint, unassuming, and relaxing. Not the place to go if you want excitement but a nice place to have pleasant conversation with adults.

Boardwalk is my favorite resort!! Here's a few of my Boardwalk tips~

-I have never stayed facing the Boardwalk, so I can't comment on the noise. But I had a 1 bedroom villa facing the swan/dolphin, and it was amazing. No noise, right by a walking path, next to a door that lead down to behind the pool. It was perfect.

-Rent the covered tandem bikes one day & do the loop. It's a lot of fun!

-Grab breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery. They have muffins, fruit, etc. They have good sandwiches for lunch too.

-We usually have dinner at the ESPN Club, as my husband loves sports. I like their lunches too. I have never done the dining plan - not sure about credits.

-Look for the hidden Mickey on the mini-carousel in the lobby. It's on the one of the horses, very small. One of my favorite hidden mickeys!

We have stayed there a few times with the Vacation Club--it is a great loacation--so much to see and do on the Boardwalk if you are not going in to the parks. We have had rooms overlooking the pool and the actual boardwalk.--both good ones.
The walks to Epcot and the Studios are easy.
Enjoy your stay.

THis is our favorite resort...YOU MUST GET A WATER VIEW ROOM! I cant give you enough visual stimulation to understand how wonderful the view is overlooking the lagoon at night and in the early morning..sitting on the balcony overlooking the Boardwalk. I stayed there New Years EVE and the noise was not overbearing with a massive party going on. Kouzzina's also has a fantastic breakfast if you want to use a DDP credit on it

Though I am not the official poster thanks for the advice. The family and I will be heading down there in a little over a month. While I have been to Disney several times now this is our first stay at Boardwalk, these are some great tips!!!

So Thank you to all.

We always stay in the room right above the arcade, the noise is minimal. I mean at like 10 everything calms down but in the morning they power wash the whole boardwalk around like 8, and that we could hear. Mmm in the morning we would always get a big cinnabon and honestly the only place i've had a better croissant was in France. Of course, it's great for the first day because its so close to Epcot you can catch Illuminations from the bridge, and just have a general place to hang out without too much commotion!

foreverbelle,

not sure your plans but when we went down in December I was at the resort at 8am...I had requested a waterview with balcony...while the waterview was locked in, they couldnt promise a balcony on the reservation as they have waterviews sans balconies..by being there at 8am...I was able not only able to ensure I got both..AND...they had a room available as the resorts were sitting at 88 percent occupancy..so we were able to settle in our room hours earlier than expected..( I originally had planned to simply check-in get valet check our baggage and walk over to EPCOT for a few hours until our room was ready)
