Any rumors of what will presented at D23 Expo this Summer?

If Dreamfinder Homecoming is even being considered as an Epcot overhaul item, that's either a "New Stuff" panel's headliner or closing act. Especially if they do some kinda hybrid of the MSEP Vault commercial and the ending of the Force Awakens for an announcement video.

Totally agree. That would be a huge announcement. Hope it happens at some point.

Disney has a LOT of hardware currently under construction (with much of that hardware not opening in 2017 or even 2018) and a lot of projects that will have opened right around the same time as D23. Personal opinion only, I'm doubting we see any new ride/land announcements. I'd highly anticipate panels/sections talking about all the newly opened hardware (including Pandora, ROL, Guardians of the Galaxy, Shanghai, and Iron Man [HKDL]). With ToyStory Land being the next big opening, maybe we see one of the ride vehicles for one of the two attractions as well as some new POV level concept art of the area. With Star Wars Land being huge projects on both coasts, I don't see how they don't present at least SOME new stuff about those projects... maybe talk about some of the food options or show off some of the concept art for the costuming for the area, but too soon for new details on the rides. My gut feeling is that the biggest announcement we might see would be Joe Rohde (at the end of a Pandora presentation), announcing that Everest would be going down for an extensive rehab which would see the Yeti returned to it's original intended glory. I think such an announcement would go over big at a D23 event (as opposed to the blog) and with Pandora open, this would be the time to do it.

I get the feeling they are holding back on Epcot announcements as it pertains to detailed info because A. They dont have everything solidified and B. They want other things done so when they do finally announce the detailed plans, it has all of the attention. I think they will want to have Epcot get its due attention when they start revamping the park. Once they get the Star Wars and Toy Story plans more toward completion and the focus can be shifted, then they will start heavily discussing Epcot. The management at Disney knows Epcot has been left to its own devices for long enough and that true fans of that park have been disappointed for a long time. They will want to make a bang with the revision of that park.

I would except Marvel Land at DCA to be announced and would be surprised if it wasn't. I'd expect details on the new ships and official confirmation on the names. I'd expect some details on Star Wars Land, but it will leave us wanting more. I could also see an announcement of single rides for DHS and Epcot.

Thinking GoTG for Epcot would be most likely, to kind of throw WDW a bone after gabbing about Marvel in DCA.

With *maybe* a hint of "more to come for Epcot". I definitely could see Chapek fast-tracking it before the real overhaul plans come to fruition.

But yes: SWL on the show floor, Marvel, the ships. Kind of the big items, I'd be shocked beyond that.

A Star Wars Land model could anchor the Imagineering pavilion. I could also see similar things for the Spirit and Imagination cruise ships

I'd be surprised if they didn't. They tend to role out the model of the big project that will be "done" by the subsequent D23.

I'll be satisfied with a model and a Marvel (DCA only) announcement. That's kind of my benchmark expectations, which unfortunately isn't exactly much for WDW fans. Better to have lowered expectations.

I could also see some details on overseas projects.

From a WDW theme park standpoint, I think these are possible:
  • More info on Star Wars Land - 100 percent certain for DHS and Disneyland
  • More on info on Toy Story Land - 100 person certain
  • Possible new DHS attraction announcement - 25 percent. I think this isn't going to be announced before 2019 because of the amount of construction DHS has right now.
  • Possible Tomorrowland attraction announcement - 25 to 50 percent. I am saying this due to Stitch being seasonal and the changes that Disney has been doing since 2015. I recalled Disney doing a new paint scheme on the outside of COP, New paint job on the rocks Tomorrowland has, and now is doing a Cosmic Rays Expansion. I think Disney's not done with the changes with the land, but I question if Disney would be announcing anything for Tomorrowland at D23.
  • Some type of a Epcot announcement although it might be vague - 50 percent. I am putting this low because Disney is having a D23 event called 35 years of Epcot. It is possible that Disney might maybe saving Epcot information for that instead of the D23 in California. If it is at D23, I would guess Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.
Here is other possibilities of other theme park announcements outside of WDW:
  • Marvel Land Expansion at DCA-100 percent chance. This one is common knowledge.
  • Showing details on upcoming expansions at Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland - 50 percent. Sometimes the park and resorts presentation at D23 does show stuff from overseas theme parks. The expansions I am talking about is stuff that already was announced for Tokyo and Hong Kong's park Expansion was announced November of Last year.
  • Shanghai Disneyland Expansion announcement - 50 percent. I think it possible because I don't think is done doing expansions to Shanghai Disneyland after Toy Land is done. Since Toyland is supposed to be open next year, I wouldn't think an announcement would be out of the question . If that announcement does happen at 2017 D23, I think might be something Star Wars or Marvel.

Monorail Expansion? The forth coming automated trains, that giant Mickey head solar panel array, the new tiered ticket pricing structures along with proposed "selective" park hopper options, would all tie in well with a monorail that ran to all 4 parks... plus the current Epcot monorail seems like the most inefficient, pointless, and expensive thing on property

Maybe I'm being naive, but after Chapeks "dream big" comment at Destination D, I can't imagine nothing will be said regarding new Epcot. I'm at least hoping for information about the reimagining of Innoventions.

so, we now have confirmed dates for:
Pandora opening, SWL in DL and WDW opening.

So what if any new news will we get now?

I am hoping beyond hope we see 3D models of SWL and TSL. Maybe some comments on Epcot adds and maybe the Mickey Ride in DHS?

I'd bet large amounts of money on a Star Wars Land model. 2 years from opening. Same amount of time from when they showed the Pandora model at D23 2015 and the official opening this year.

Still no opening year announced for TSL, correct?

I'd be very surprised if they didn't have a significant Star Wars Land component to D23 Expo. The model could anchor the Imagineering pavilion.
