Any Bets on What Comes After Galaxy's Edge?

Ok, so studios is done for a bit, epcot being rebuilt, animal kingdom running nicely and magic kingdom getting the love for its 50th, maybe work on increasing the size of the water parks....but possibly the fabled 5th gate?

Personally Studios needs a lot more work on top of what they have planned for Epcot
"LOT" being the key word in your post. I'm not sure in WDW history if SWL opening has anything to be compared to. I'm not talking about one offs like NYE in the MK(and like holidays). I'm taking about massive crowds for months on end. Did they really think TSL and replacing GMR with the Mickey ride would be enough to keep the masses happy? More likely...they just don't care about guest satisfaction scores.

There are so many things to work on next...
  • Replacement show for Voyage of the Little Mermaid
  • Replacement for Beauty and the Beast
  • Replacement for Fantasmic
  • Replacement for Indiana Jones
  • Retheming of Rock n' Roller Coaster. (Incredibles?)
  • Retheming of Star Tours. (Inside Out?)
  • Retheme of Launch Bay
  • Retheme (?) of one mans dream
That has to be 5 years+ of rework, before they get on with adding much else.

We might see small aditions like a restaurant in Toy Story Land, expansion of the Star Wars hotel etc. but I can't imagine any major additions for several years.

Yes
I really don't know why they haven't got started on this area. Galaxy's Edge is around 10 months away, and getting rid of the Launch Bay wouldn't be a huge hit on capacity at this stage. The quicker they can get something open in this park, the better.
With the expected size of the galaxy’s edge crowd, some SW meet and greets may stay in launch bay for a little while. For safety. Until things calm a bit. Just like the opening of TSL when characters had to be moved to the former Pixar Place do to lack of walking space.

Maybe an Indiana Jones Land? Or a Cars Land, as was originally rumored back when TSL wasn't even announced?

TBH I would LOVE a frozen land, but not at WDW, likely until Frozen 3 is announced, if ever. :/

I'd prefer they'd not bring CarsLand here. DCA needs to stand out and have experiences you can't find anywhere else and Carsland is a huge help in that. Plus Pixar movie-lands just feels lazy on Disney's part and I'm getting tired of them. That Pixar Pier at DCA just took Disney's laziness to a whole new level.

As for an Indy-land...(if this Indy land is being built at DAK) I would like to see Dinoland become an Amazon themed land instead with new animal exhibits and a Brazilian steakhouse. Then the Indy ride can use a South American setting similar to the one in Tokyo and voila. Of course this is unlikely to happen cause Disney doesn't want to deal with anymore real live animals but this would be the best way to do it IMO. Shoehorning UP also makes more sense in a South American land than Asia.

As for DHS, the Animation Courtyard area is ripe for expansion. Alot of those backstage buildings aren't really needed anymore since the park no longer is an actual studio. A good place to bring back Mickey's Toontown.

There is plenty of land north of IaSW and the circus.

If Frozen gets a land at WDW, I am pretty sure it would be in one of these spots.

Rumors there could end up being four films, which makes an MK land more likely than not. IMO.
Great. More mediocre movies buoyed by one overplayed song. ;)

Edit: I won’t lie though, I really enjoy the ride. It’s simply in the wrong theme park.

As of now, Indy is projected to stay in DHS, in whatever capacity.

In an effort to keep people moving, maybe it can be a Express M&G, where you are on a really speedy moving walkway, and go whizzing past the characters to the point where if you blink you miss them...sort of like the Yeti. You then collect a pic at the end of the walkway where you are hanging on to the moving walkway railings due to fear of falling off, with an image of Kylo Ren laughing hysterically, behind you.

A purpose built Frozen attraction in the MK would allow them to bring back Maelstrom. Although I am sure a giant wind turbine would replace the oil derrick by then. Heh.

IIRC I thought that were wasn't going to be "out of universe" merchandise in Galaxy's Edge. Makes sense to keep Launch Bay/Tatooine Traders for awhile to sell the movie shirts and regular toys until they find a home for all of it.

Yes, with the following exceptions:

Fantasmic doesn't need replaced just refreshed like what was done at DL (though not necessarily a clone of what is running at DL).

Inside Out needs a park presence, but not in DHS or Star Tours.

The overall point is the same... there is plenty of stuff in DHS that needs refreshing for a few years post Galaxies Edge opening.
5 years down the line, they might need a GE expansion to keep them coming, and to expand the park through Launch Bay and around to R+RC... but improving what is already there is a more sensible move for now.
